About the Role

We are looking for a People Operations Coordinator reporting to our People Generalist, who will play a crucial role in managing and enhancing the employee experience. This role focuses on the operational and administrative aspects of People Operations, ensuring that the day-to-day functions support the organization’s goals and employee needs effectively. We are looking for someone who is extremely organized and eager to learn about the People Operations function. This position will be working in our New York office. 

Responsibilities

  • HR Administration: Assist in the implementation of HR policies, procedures and systems. Provide administrative support for day-to-day operations.
  • Onboarding & Offboarding: Support the onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring tasks are completed in compliance with organizational and regional requirements.
  • Payroll & Benefits: Assist with payroll processing and answer employee inquiries regarding benefits. Help in managing employee benefit programs, including health insurance, retirement plans and other company-sponsored benefits.
  • Employee Records Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and databases. Handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
  • Training & Development: Coordinate training sessions and workshops that align with employee development and organizational needs.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies, as well as, assist in monitoring and enforcing compliance with HR policies and applicable employment laws.
  • HR Projects & Communication: Contribute to and support People Team initiatives and programs, including assisting in the development and distribution of internal HR communications. Seek and analyze feedback from employees to monitor engagement.
  • Office Management: Handle NYC office management duties, including ordering supplies and managing WeWork memberships. Manage and maintain company-wide calendars and organize virtual and NYC office events.
  • Administrative Support: Handle day-to-day administrative tasks, including management of incoming mail and assisting the AR team with check processing. Act as a point of contact for current and former employee questions and concerns.

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of experience working as an HR coordinator or within an HR team
  • BA or BS Degree Required in human resources or related field and/or equivalent experience
  • You have exceptional discretion and are comfortable handling multiple tasks at once
  • You are self-motivated and are able to manage and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-moving environment
  • You are highly organized and detail oriented and have the ability to communicate effectively and clearly
  • Discretion and ability to handle confidential matters
  • Someone with a growth mindset who is looking to gain exposure to all HR functions; Talent Development, Total Rewards, Talent Acquisition, and People Partnering
  • Prior experience in a startup environment is preferred
  • Strong analytical capability; proficiency with Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets
  • Must be local to NYC as this is an in-office position
