Position: Java-fluent engineer to tackle the most complex engineering challenges across the full stack of the Appian platform, serving as reference to other engineers as a member of feature teams and a trusted advisor to the architecture and product management functions and promoting platform consistency, inspiring design discipline, and continuously advancing the state of Appian’s technology. Effectively communicate technical designs verbally, visually and/or in writing for small to large sized technical audiences. Develop product features to the highest engineering standards, spiking robust solutions to clear architectural runway ahead of feature development. Perform code reviews with feedback on code quality, design and implementation. Identify opportunities for code refactoring and performance optimizations on a regular basis and champion these efforts within the team. Mentor junior software engineers by sharing best-practices and providing guidance on how to become more proficient. Identify, understand, and bring to fruition technology trends and innovations relevant to Appian. Contribute to Appian's long-term documentation through publishing relevant, high-quality content to Engineering's technical documentation site.

Requirements: MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related + min. 5 years of experience in job offered or as Software/Network Engineer in a high-volume critical production service environment or in lieu of the employer will accept BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related + min. 10 years of experience in job offered or as Software/Network Engineer in a high-volume critical production service environment.
