We’re the Experience Design team at Wayfair, and we’re tackling exciting challenges that are reshaping how people discover, find, purchase, and have goods delivered to their homes. We’re a diverse team of world-class product designers who are hard at work transforming experiences for our customers, suppliers and internal operations users.

We are looking for current students who are passionate about users and have a desire to deliver impactful user experiences through design. What changes or tools would make our supply chain work easier, safer and keep everyone happier? How can we help operations move products faster, ensure quality and deliver quicker to customers? What You’ll Do:

  • Be part of an awesome Design team in the Supply Chain Technology department, where you'll develop tools to enhance the Fulfillment and Delivery Network for our internal users, including warehouse and transportation staff, supervisors, and managers.
  • Participate of our team meetings such as experience design projects reviews, sharing knowledge, retrospectives, provide and receive feedback
  • Craft intuitive interface experiences, leveraging design thinking and industry best practices, with support from your dedicated mentor
  • Join a cross-functional team of designers, product managers, and engineers to assist in the day-to-day work of designing delightful experiences
  • Participate in workshops and ideation sessions that harness the brainpower of collective team
  • Produce and iterate on design deliverables that communicate solutions, such as user flows, wireframes, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity visuals
  • Present deliverables to partners and stakeholders in order to collect feedback and iterate accordingly
  • Contribute to a variety of research efforts (competitive benchmarking, user testing, audits, and synthesis of findings)
  • Participate in and contribute to team events and development sessions

What You’ll Need:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Current Sophomore or Junior student pursuing an undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline (Human Factors, Information Design, Human Computer Interaction, UX Design, etc.) with a 3.0 GPA minimum
  • A portfolio that demonstrates hands-on design work (digital UX and/or visual design work). Portfolio can be presented online or as a PDF.
  • Must be returning to the course of study following completion of the Co-op
  • Ability to commit to working 40 hours/week (9am-5pm, Monday-Friday) from January 6 to June 20, 2025 in our Boston office
  • You must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship by Wayfair now or in the future

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Passion for the user with a strong interest in understanding their behavior
  • Always curious and feels energized by learning new things
  • Detail-oriented and working knowledge of relevant design tools (e.g. Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, prototyping tools, etc.)
  • An ability to make decisions backed up by best practices, research, and understanding of user and business needs
  • An analytical and process-oriented mindset, with strong problem-solving skills
  • A desire to collaborate cross-functionally, able to contribute as part of a team and individually
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excited to see results driven by their work
  • Flexible; can adapt to changes in priorities and manage multiple projects/tasks simultaneously
  • Comfort prioritizing work and meeting deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Preference for second and third co-ops, strong first time co-ops will be considered

Wayfair Co-op Program Overview

Based in Wayfair’s Boston headquarters, our co-op program is a six-month, full-time, paid program that runs twice annually in January to June and July to December. Through the co-op program, students have the opportunity to gain impactful professional experience in their major or career field of interest by fully integrating with Wayfair business units. In addition to exciting project work, Wayfair co-ops have the opportunity to build their professional networks, take advantage of training offerings, and attend social events throughout the program.

Wayfair's In-Office Policy:

An Important Note about Wayfair's In-Office Policy:

All Boston-based interns, co-ops, and corporate employees will be in office in a hybrid capacity. Employees will work in the office on designated days Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, and work remotely Monday and Friday.
