SHOULD YOU ACCEPT THIS CHALLENGE...

Pure Storage is seeking a full-time Product Engineer (PE) to work in our Global Supply Chain Operations Engineering team. The ideal candidate brings extensive experience in hardware design and PCB process, and the system integration with a passion for driving manufacturability and quality from the earliest stages of the product lifecycle as a critical bridge between our R&D HW Engineering and Operations. This individual will work closely with their engineering counterparts in Hardware, Test, Supply Chain Management and Suppliers to ensure product quality KPIs are achieved.

  • Act as the primary technical lead for Operations, providing crucial feedback to R&D on Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Testability (DFT) for new high-density flash storage arrays.
  • Proactively identify and resolve manufacturing, scalability, and quality risks related to PCB design, component selection, and performance, ensuring high product reliability.
  • Apply a deep understanding of NAND flash memory, PCIe, and NVMe protocols to ensure designs meet performance, power, and thermal standards.
  • Lead the technical side of the supply chain by coordinating failure analysis and root cause determination with suppliers to implement effective corrective actions.
  • Assist with prototype debugging and bring-up, while also improving manufacturing processes and documentation to enhance efficiency and reduce costs across all supplier sites.
  • Develop and maintain the Bill of Materials (BOM) within the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tool.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BRING TO THIS ROLE...

  • Deep technical knowledge in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated expertise in hardware engineering, encompassing significant exposure to manufacturing and product lifecycle management.
  • Hands-on expertise in NAND-based storage systems, SSDs, or other high-density flash products.
  • Demonstrated skills in PCB design, including schematic capture and layout review for complex, high-layer-count boards.
  • Technical understanding of the PCBA SMT process, subassembly, system integration, and essential test procedures.
  • Strong working knowledge of PCI Express (PCIe) and NVMe protocols.
  • Experience working with Agile PLM & Netsuite ERP systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a track record of yield management, improving product quality, manufacturing efficiency.
  • Results-oriented and adaptable leader who thrives in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment by balancing customer needs with business goals.
  • Ability to travel up to 15% domestically and internationally, as needed.

We are primarily an in-office environment and therefore, you will be expected to work from the Santa Clara, CA office in compliance with Pure’s policies, unless you are on PTO, or work travel, or other approved leave.

Salary ranges are determined based on role, level and location. For positions open to candidates in multiple geographical locations, the base salary range is reflective of the labor market across the applicable locations. 

This role may be eligible for incentive pay and/or equity.

The annual base salary range is: $175,000—$263,000 USD
