Product Manager, Physical Retail Sales & Service
Who We Are [Physical Retail Sales & Service]
Wayfair believes everyone deserves a home they love, and that furnishing your home should be a source of fun, not anxiety. Our product team plays a crucial role in making this vision a reality for millions of people around the world. Partnering with engineering, UX design, analytics, and business partners across Wayfair, our product team ensures that we’re building technology that solves important customer problems in elegant, scalable, measurable ways. We have a modern tech stack including sophisticated capabilities around AI, data science, multivariate testing, and personalization. We’re a highly collaborative, supportive team that values learning, psychological safety, and intentional career development.
The Physical Retail Sales & Service team is responsible for the technology experience that powers our brick-and-mortar stores. The Product Manager in this role will unify two core areas of focus: (1) enabling customer self-service through tools like digital displays, e-labels, and our in-store mobile app, and (2) equipping store associates with a bespoke point of sale system that integrates seamlessly with our specialty, omni-channel sales and service tools.
This role will own initiatives spanning the end-to-end in-store experience – from “See in Store” discovery on our e-commerce platform, to complex assisted purchases like renovation projects, to post-sale support like returns. You’ll shape how customers shop independently and how associates assist with confidence.
What You’ll Do
- Define and deliver experiences that help customers explore, discover, and transact independently in physical retail environments.
- Drive integration and optimization of tools for store associates, including selling tools, POS, and customer service interactions.
- Own cross-domain initiatives spanning in-store and online journeys to simplify complex purchases and promote expert-supported sales.
- Partner with design, engineering, analytics, and retail stakeholders to build scalable, measurable solutions that improve conversion, satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
- Manage cross-functional projects from discovery through delivery, ensuring tight alignment with physical retail strategy.
- Translate complex workflows into clear product requirements and cross-domain contracts.
- Champion associate and customer needs while balancing business goals and technical constraints.
- Communicate product vision and progress to stakeholders across the company, including senior leadership.
What You’ll Need
- 4+ years building software products at scale from concept to launch and beyond.
- Experience with consumer-facing or retail associate tools preferred.
- Strong technical background and ability to break down complex problems into incremental value delivery.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
- Comfort with data and a passion for using it to drive decision-making; SQL a plus.
- Understanding of how tools and platforms integrate in omni-channel retail settings.
- A bias for action and customer-focused innovation mindset.
