We are hiring a Technologist to join the Product Validation team here at Factor. The Product Validation Technologist I will be responsible for assisting in the execution and reporting of validation testing for new ingredients, equipment, recipe builds and product launches. You will assist in the preparation and logistics of product evaluations & assisting with sensory evaluations. To thrive in this role you will need to have a genuine interest in utilizing data and metrics to find food manufacturing optimization and improvement opportunities. You will ...

  • Assist in validation testing of new ingredients and equipment in line with cross-functional team needs and company objectives.
  • Learn to organize, conduct & report exploratory evaluations of new ingredients with internal stakeholders.
  • Manage new product inventory for validation testing.
  • Assist with packing and shipping of samples 
  • Assist with conducting sensory evaluations and data collection
  • Develop an understanding of production process to assist in identifying process and evaluation improvement opportunities
  • Develop the ability to evaluate finished products to validate end-customer experience and shelf-life.

  • Self-driven, goal oriented, and interested in continued learning
  • Strong in verbal and written communication, able to generate report on product testing
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Able to handle multiple priorities in a fast paced environment
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs

 

At a minimum, you have ...

  • Associate degree in culinary arts/culinology or relative culinary/food manufacturing experience.
  • Minimum 0-1 year of experience working in an office/professional setting
  • Proficiency with Google Suite and/or MS Office
  • Experience utilizing basic analytical, pilot and culinary equipment.

Illinois Pay Range$63,750—$85,000 USD
