We are looking for a Program Manager who can drive cross-functional initiatives, leveraging strong leadership, planning, communication, and collaboration skills. The ideal candidate is a problem solver who makes things happen around them by setting clear goals and inspiring teams to deliver. You are both strategic and tactical and do what it takes to successfully deliver key programs that have a material impact on the business.

The focus for the Community Safety team is making riders and drivers feel safe and comfortable while riding or driving with Lyft and ensuring that our riders and drivers make it safely to their destination every time. From prevention to intervention and accountability, the Community Safety team ensures that the Lyft community continues to be trusted and inclusive. Within this team, we’re hiring a Program Manager who will be responsible for managing our Safety portfolio across the whole company, partnering with other teams to create safety solutions for all our customers. You will work across teams to shepherd and manage the delivery of safety projects to completion. You’re savvy at connecting the dots, being a trusted partner to cross functional peers at Lyft. You’ll be a leader within the Safety organization and an advocate for Safety at Lyft.

Responsibilities:
  • Understand Safety core features and products inside out, and work with the teams to help set goals and trajectory
  • Provide up to date visibility into current projects, team utilization, project health and priorities
  • Manage deliverables in an accurate and timely fashion
  • Serve as trusted partner to Safety leadership across the organization
  • Collaborate, communicate, and negotiate with product managers, engineers, policy partners, and legal team members at all levels across the organization
  • Lead biannual planning and prioritization with cross functional teams, balancing multiple inputs and needs
  • Shape, drive and document processes and tools for effective team workflows and collaboration
  • Participate in and facilitate project reviews, prep, and post-mortems
Experience:
  • 5+ years of experience in a combination of strategy and operations roles, with a strong foundation in Trust & Safety preferred but not required. 
  • Strong project management and leadership skills. Adept at cross-functional collaboration, building consensus, and creating a shared project plan across multiple teams.
  • Proven ability to operate effectively and autonomously across multiple teams in situations of extreme ambiguity, with only high-level direction.
  • Able to influence, negotiate and inspire others in a matrixed environment. Excellent organization, planning skills, and attention to detail
  • Propensity to ask insightful questions, conduct thorough research, and understand both high-level strategy and ground-level tactical needs.
  • Ability to dive deeply into a problem and quickly assess risks and dependencies
  • Intellectually curious, detail-oriented, and driven to make an impact on the business.

This role will be in-office on a hybrid schedule — Team Members will be expected to work in the office 3 days per week on Mondays, Thursdays and a team-specific third day. Additionally, hybrid roles have the flexibility to work from anywhere for up to 4 weeks per year. #Hybrid

The expected base pay range for this position in the New York area is $104,000 - $130,000. Salary ranges are dependent on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience and geographic location. Range is not inclusive of potential equity offering, bonus or benefits.
