Program Manager, Technology Enablement - Onboarding & L&D

The Onboarding Program Manager, Technology Enablement, is crucial in welcoming and integrating new hires into the Toast Technology department. This role leverages Process Street, a workflow management tool, to ensure a standardised, efficient, and engaging onboarding experience. The role involves close collaboration with hiring managers, team leads, and other stakeholders to coordinate onboarding activities, track progress, create learning content and gather feedback to continuously improve the process. Toast has new hires starting every 2 weeks.
About this roll (Responsibilities):
- Onboarding Program Design and Implementation: Review the current onboarding process and checklists within Process Street and ensure they are refreshed and relevant for new hires. Process Street is a tool used to manage tasks, timelines, and resources and create checklists for all new hires to follow.
- Operations Workflow Management: Review, maintain and update Process Street workflows to automate and streamline onboarding activities such as the below items to ensure operational efficiencies and stability:
- Pre-boarding tasks (Manager workflow)
- Orientation schedules
- New hire checklists
- Training assignments
- Feedback collection
- Zapier Workflow maintenance
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with hiring managers, team leads, IT, HR, and other relevant departments to ensure a seamless onboarding experience.
- New Hire Support: Provide guidance and support to new hires during their initial weeks, addressing questions and concerns liaising with groups all across R&D.
- Continuous Improvement/Metrics Review: Regularly evaluate the effectiveness of the onboarding program, gather feedback from new hires and stakeholders, and make improvements to optimise the process.
- Onboarding Content Development: Own the ADDIE cycle (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) to collaborate with SMEs to create and update engaging and effective onboarding content, including training materials, documentation, and resources.
- Process Street Advocacy: In collaboration with the Process Street vendor, promote the use of Process Street within R&D teams to improve onboarding efficiency and consistency.
Do you have the right ingredients? (Requirements)
- Onboarding Program Development: Experience in designing and implementing technical onboarding programs, preferably within a technology or R&D environment.
- Operational Skills: Comfortable being the first point of contact for any queries related to onboarding raised by new hires. This is an ongoing operational activity as we have new hires every 2 weeks.
- Excellent Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with new hires and stakeholders.
- Strong Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple onboarding processes simultaneously, track progress, and meet deadlines.
- Collaborative Approach: Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and foster a positive onboarding experience.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to address challenges and find solutions to ensure a smooth onboarding process.
- Passion for People: Genuine interest in helping new hires acclimate to their roles and the company culture.
- Learning and Development: Demonstrated experience designing and developing a range of learning materials across various modalities (e.g., online courses, videos, job aids, instructor-led training). You'll work closely with SMEs to analyze needs, design and develop effective learning solutions, and evaluate their impact, playing a key role in the full ADDIE cycle for onboarding content
- Metrics: Demonstrated experience in developing and utilizing data-driven dashboards to measure the effectiveness of onboarding programs (or similar) and drive optimisation efforts
*This role is a hybrid position requiring two days per week in our Dublin office*
