A QA Lead reports to a QA Manager and works closely with QA Subject Matter Experts, other QA members, project managers, designers, and developers to ensure QA standards and client satisfaction are delivered throughout the account. A QA Lead supports the QA Manager in various tasks and provides leadership and career development to team members.

You will:

  • Supervise QA team members assigned directly and follow up on their performance and projects.
  • Promote effective communication, participation, and involvement among QA members.
  • Plan, conducted, and technically directed to maintain the quality level expected by the client.
  • Oversee QA members' tasks in assigned projects, escalate issues when necessary.
  • Attend, lead, and organize meetings on behalf of the team.
  • Advocate for QA values and prnciples within the QA team, the company, and with clients.
  • Foster a team-oriented and collaborative environment among all team members.
  • Promote a positive environment and motivate the team.
  • Communicate test results and escalate issues and risks following the correct escalation path.
  • Oversee test data identification.
  • Create, co-create, and oversee test plans and manage different testing suites.
  • Write and maintain test cases/scripts.
  • Create QA estimations.
  • Create and oversee traceability matrix and checklist documents based on project requirements.
  • Provide support on functional and non-functional testing when necessary.
  • Develop test design documents to cover requirements.
  • Plan and schedule test activities to ensure they meet functional, system, and technical specifications.
  • Apply industry-standard testing methodology, strategies, and best practices.
  • Create and oversee defect tickets, track issues to resolution, and analyze risks.
  • Generate reports and related metrics at different levels.
  • Oversee, delegate, and coordinate work to other QA Associates and apprentices as needed.
  • Mentor staff members and act as a career developer.
  • Assist the Talent department in selecting and interviewing new QA team members.
  • Create, oversee, and execute regression tests based on design specifications and requirements.
  • Conduct research into new technologies, including tools, components, and frameworks related to QA.
  • Identify areas for improvement, including automation tools, and proactively identify potential risks within the project.
  • Ability to take charge of QA offerings on a project.
  • Knowledge of agile development principles and frameworks like Scrum.
  • Assist in refining and estimating/sizing work, including understanding complexity vs. difficulty.
  • Decompose requirements into manageable test artefacts.
  • Propose creative test solution options, considering novel ideas and proven methods.
  • Identify the root cause of defects using debugging tools and structured problem-solving processes.
  • Involved in the release planning process, ensuring all quality gates are adhered to and necessary documentation is produced to standards.
  • Support other QA colleagues in performance management and personal development.

 

You have

  • English proficiency (B2+ - C1 level) in reading, writing, and conversation.
  • 7+ years in Software Quality Assurance, with extensive experience in leading QA and cross-functional teams and technical projects.
  • Strong working knowledge with:
    • Modern Engineering Practices: Promote TDD, BDD/ATDD, CI, Pair Programming, continuous refactoring, and test automation.
    • Non-Functional Testing: Exposure to performance, security, accessibility testing and related tools.
    • Automation Scripting: Create automated scripts in frameworks like Selenium Web-driver using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
    • SDET Mindset: Ensure traceability from Lean ACs to CI & DevOps.
    • Tool Proficiency: Wide usage of tools for requirements tracking, defect tracking, and test case management (Azure DevOps, Jira, TestRail).
    • API Testing: Experience with integration testing involving APIs and tools like Postman.
    • CMS Testing: Familiarity with content management systems like Sitecore, Umbraco, and WordPress, and the ability to transfer testing experience
  • Bachelor's degree in software engineering or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies for software development.
  • Experience with local and offshore teams, task management, and defect tracking tools like Jira.
  • Extensive knowledge of Windows or MacOS software.
