Software Asset Management (SAM) role responsibilities for SAM professionals:
License Compliance Management:
- Monitor and manage software licenses to ensure compliance with vendor agreements, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
- Conduct regular audits and reconciliations to verify license usage against purchased licenses.
Cost Optimization:
- Identify opportunities to reduce software costs through license reharvesting, optimization, and renegotiation of vendor contracts.
- Implement strategies to eliminate unnecessary licenses or consolidate software usage where possible.
Vendor Management:

- Implement controls to monitor software usage and prevent unauthorized installations or usage.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Analyze data on software licenses, usage patterns, and compliance status to provide insights for decision-making and cost-saving opportunities.
- Prepare regular reports and dashboards for stakeholders, management, and audit purposes.
IT Governance Support:
