Salary: The salary range for this position is $104,000 - $118,000 per year, however the base salary offered may vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience

The Team & The Role

The Fintech & Loyalty (F&L) organization builds and manages the foundational systems, financial products, and fraud detection and prevention services that provide customers with a secure, seamless, and rewarding payment experience. 

F&L partners with 30+ organizations worldwide to provide a robust selection of gifting, paying, and financing options, to securely process $12B+ in annual transaction volume, and to detect, prevent, and mitigate fraud.

As the Senior Analyst for Payments & Fraud, you will play a critical role in optimizing our payment processing and protecting Wayfair from fraudulent activity. You will work in a fast-paced, data-driven environment, providing the analytical firepower and partnership management needed to execute our strategy. You will report to the Manager of Payments & Fraud and collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Analytics, and Finance to drive tangible results.

What You'll Do
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) across both payments and fraud, including authorization rates, payment costs, chargeback rates, and fraud false positives. In addition to curating meaningful reporting, you will translate your analytical insights into actionable recommendations and champion the initiatives needed to drive improvement

  • Support the day-to-day management of our strategic partnerships with payment processors, card networks, digital wallets, and fraud prevention vendors. This includes helping to lead performance reviews, ensuring invoice accuracy and holding partners accountable to contractual SLAs
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to drive initiatives that improve authorization rates, lower payment costs, and minimize fraud risk, all while protecting the customer experience

  • Assist in exploring new partnerships and technologies in the payments and fraud space. You'll support the team from technical diligence through to contract execution
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the payments and fraud landscape, synthesizing opportunities from market trends and competitive analysis to help shape our roadmap

What You’ll Bring
  • Experience in the payments industry, preferably in fraud/risk, e-commerce, card payments, network brands, and / or acquiring

  • Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for getting deep into the data. High proficiency in Excel is required. Experience with data visualization software (e.g., Looker, Tableau) is a plus
  • Comfort drawing conclusions and making recommendations from imperfect information. You can leverage data from multiple sources to tell a persuasive story

  • A demonstrated ability to help drive projects to completion across multiple teams in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to tailor your style to different audiences

  • Willingness to roll up your sleeves and engage deeply with analysts and managers, across multiple teams and agendas, to accomplish what needs to be done
