The Senior AV Operations Engineer Opportunity
This role will partner with the business as an AV Event Producer, AV operations engineer, and technology strategist. You will be part of the team that drives the technical aspects of Okta’s marquee events, provide in-depth AV support for stakeholders, corporate executives, and collaborate with vendors to ensure seamless event execution. This role requires occasional international travel and a flexible work schedule to support live and virtual events.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Steer the technical direction and execution of AV production for internal and external events, including interfacing with key stakeholders for Okta’s Marquee Events, Town Halls, All Hands, and Fireside Chats.
- Manage and support AV systems/infrastructure, including event spaces in both the San Francisco and global offices and remote/virtual events.
- Collaborate with vendors to manage technical event production logistics and provide consultation services to ensure cost efficiencies and security best practices.
- Develop and document AV production workflows, standardizing processes for scalability.
- Deliver training and support to end users and junior engineers on AV tools, event platforms, and production best practices.
- Ensure security and compliance best practices are followed across all AV, event and conferencing solutions.
- Project tracking via JIRA and incident/request management via ServiceNow to ensure business continuity and customer satisfaction.
What You’ll Bring to the Role
- 3–5+ years of experience in AV event production, operations, and vendor management.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and provide exceptional customer service.
- Strong expertise with conferencing platforms (Zoom, Teams, WebEx) and live streaming technologies, including NDI, Dante, SRT, HLS, RTMPS, and WebRTC.
- Hands-on experience with AV hardware and software, including Yamaha audio boards, video switchers (Ross Ultrix, Barco), etc.
- Strong experience supporting C-level executives and providing white-glove AV event services.
- In-depth knowledge of IT networking principles related to AV and UC platforms, e.g., (AVoIP, WiFi, DNS, QoS, VLANs).
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve AV system issues in high pressure situations, ensuring high-quality event execution.
And Extra Credit if You Have Experience in Any of the Following!
- CTS Training/Certification or equivalent AV credentials.
- Experience with AV over IP solutions and enterprise-grade AV infrastructure.
- Hands-on experience with AVcontrol system programming, e.g., (QSYS, Crestron, GrandMA).
- Systems API integration, scripting and automation.
- Experience with corporate networking architecture and security best practices.

Below is the annual base salary range for candidates located in California. Your actual base salary will depend on factors such as your skills, qualifications, experience, and work location. In addition, Okta offers equity (where applicable), bonus, and benefits, including health, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), flexible spending account, and paid leave (including PTO and parental leave) in accordance with our applicable plans and policies. The annual base salary range for this position for candidates located in the San Francisco Bay area is between: $98,000—$148,000 USDWhat you can look forward to as a Full-Time Okta employee!
