The Data department oversees all of Agoda's data-related requirements. Our ultimate goal is to enable and increase the use of data in the company through creative approaches and the implementation of powerful resources such as operational and analytical databases, queue systems, BI tools, and data science technology. We hire the brightest minds from around the world to take on this challenge and equip them with the knowledge and tools that contribute to their personal growth and success while supporting our company's culture of diversity and experimentation. The Opportunity  

In this role as Senior BI Developer, you will be working alongside Data Architects, marketing product owners, and business stakeholders to enable the Marketing department of Agoda with actionable data intelligence and scalable BI solutions to drive better decision making. You will be integral in the design, development, and implementation of reliable, performant, and scalable data intelligence solutions to improve our data warehouse architecture, business intelligence reporting, data automation solutions, and data product developments specifically for marketing analytics and campaign performance. 

What You'll Do:  

  • Design and develop robust data mart solutions, ETL processes, and data pipelines to support marketing analytics, campaign tracking, customer segmentation, and performance measurement 
  • Build and maintain scalable BI dashboards and reporting solutions using tools like Tableau, Metabase, and Superset to enable marketing teams with real-time insights on campaign performance, customer acquisition, channel effectiveness, and ROI metrics 
  • Understand marketing business requirements, analyze large datasets for patterns and trends, and visualize results in comprehensive dashboards and presentations to support strategic marketing decisions 
  • Support Marketing Product Owners and campaign managers across all experimentation stages to assist in campaign ideation, implement A/B testing monitoring, and define statistical success criteria for marketing initiatives 
  • Drive self-service business intelligence by empowering marketing users to adopt existing BI tools by improving the data landscape, creating reusable data models, and educating users on best practices 
  • Become a data business partner for Marketing and Product stakeholders by guiding them through all data-related topics, providing technical expertise, and translating business needs into technical solutions 
  • Design and build Data Products to automate manual marketing processes, embed data metrics into marketing applications, and improve user experience with real-time analytics for campaign management 
  • Develop and optimize SQL queries, data models, and database structures to ensure efficient data retrieval and reporting performance for marketing analytics 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Data Engineering, Data Science, and Marketing Operations to ensure data quality, consistency, and alignment with business objectives 

  

Required Qualifications:  

  • At least 5 years of experience in Business Intelligence Development, Data Engineering, or related technical roles with focus on building BI solutions 
  • Strong education background with degrees in Computer Science, IT, Management Information Systems, Data Science, Mathematics and Statistics, or equivalent hands-on experience 
  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with BI development tools such as Tableau, or Superset, including dashboard design, data modeling, and performance optimization 
  • Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, complex query authoring (SQL), data warehousing concepts, and working familiarity with non-relational databases 
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as ETL development, and automation 
  • Experience in designing and developing ETL/ELT processes, data pipelines, and data integration solutions 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, along with the capability to collaborate effectively within a team 
  • A self-motivated, driven, flexible, quick learning, high achieving, "can do" mentality 
  • A drive to learn and master new technologies and techniques 
  • An ability to work well independently and as part of a team 
  • Proficient English communication skills for expressing ideas clearly and working well with colleagues in a professional environment 

  

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Experience in marketing analytics, campaign performance measurement, customer segmentation, or digital marketing data 
  • Knowledge of A/B testing, experimentation frameworks, and statistics for marketing campaigns 
  • Experience using AI tools or platforms, which could help with automating tasks or analyzing marketing data 
  • Familiarity with marketing technology stack and data sources (CRM, advertising platforms, web analytics, etc.) 
  • Knowledge of a variety of machine learning techniques (clustering, decision tree learning, neural networks, etc.) and their real-world advantages/drawbacks for marketing applications 
  • Knowledge of big data tools, such as Spark, Kafka, etc., for processing large-scale marketing data 
  • Experience with cloud data platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and modern data stack technologies
