Tripadvisor is looking for a Senior Commercial Licensing Specialist, experienced in content licensing and affiliate solutions to join our Commercial Strategy team.  This person will be responsible for leading key global accounts sales strategy, contract negotiations, program implementation and daily account management across our Content Licensing, Syndicated Meta and Review Collection solutions.  This role requires a proactive, highly motivated, team-oriented and tech-savvy candidate with a highly proven business development acumen who is able to excel in a fast-paced, data driven and entrepreneurial environment.  The role will report directly to the Head of Business Development.

 

What you’ll do:

  • Lead the end-to-end sales strategy and negotiation process for top priority Content Licensing opportunities.  Serve as the primary point of contact to answer questions, run reporting, provide guidance on best practices and troubleshoot any issues related to these opportunities.

  • Manage end-to-end sales strategy and negotiations for Syndicated Meta and Review Collection opportunities.  Manager to support large, complicated deals as needed.

  • Manage all day-to-day account management, execution needs and client relationships for all Syndicated Meta and Review Collection partnerships.  Serve as clients’ primary point of contact to answer questions, run reporting, provide guidance on best practices and troubleshoot any issues.

  • Serve as Content Licensing consultant to Account Executives for non-priority opportunities.

  • Support Head of BD in evaluation of new opportunities with platform partners,working with product and leadership to pull business cases together and investigate feasibility and resourcing lift. 

  • Provide broad strategic support to Head of BD on POI partnership as it relates to priority platform partners currently licensing Tripadvisor data or actively exploring a data partnership. 

  • Liaise with sales, product, engineering, Content Solutions General Manager and other teams as relevant to lead customized solutions, pitch strategies and executional problem solving as needed.

  • Liaise with the legal team to formulate and finalize contracts for all Syndicated Meta and Review Collection opportunities.  Negotiate partnerships fairly and ensure standards and compliance meet Tripadvisor corporate expectations.

  • Lead, advise and support our partners in the implementation stage of their integration, including but not limited to, best practices, brand guidelines, weekly update calls, technical troubleshooting and testing by representing the Tripadvisor values.

  • Identify areas to optimize existing integrations through data / competitive set analysis and quarterly partner business reviews. Execute against initiatives to reach and exceed target metrics.

  • Maintain an accurate and organized overview of all of your account details and initiatives.  Monitor and provide necessary information related to weekly pipeline and forecasting efforts.

  • Advise leadership on opportunities to drive more efficient internal operational processes.

 

Skills & Experience:

  • 5+ years’ experience in business development or account management at a leading hospitality, media or technology brand.

  • Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent

  • Experience at building and growing client relationships through positive communication, honesty and trust.

  • Demonstrated ability to close deals and think creatively around consumer needs, partner opportunities and potential solutions.

  • Experience with cross-functional teammates to ensure client deliveries are defined, scoped and delivered within expected timeline. This includes: product, engineering, legal, finance, accounting, and other counterparts.

  • Foundational knowledge of and experience with technical integrations (API feeds, wireframes, etc.), and enjoys problem solving and utilizing digital products to ensure successful project implementation.

  • Target driven and proven self-starter with the ability to deliver on commercial targets through own efforts. Track record of exceeding targets through growing existing and signing new strategic accounts.

  • Excellent prospecting, negotiation, presentation and analytical skills to ensure partnerships are secured and executed with optimum performance.

  • Ability to utilize different data sources and reporting tools to identify areas of improvement.
