We are looking for a Senior Competitive Intelligence Analyst in Elastic’s Product Marketing organization. Elastic competes in a diverse and constantly evolving space, and this individual will ensure our executives and sales teams remain informed and armed with the data intelligence they need to be successful in the market.

In this role, you’ll be working closely across product marketing, product management, sales enablement and other internal teams to deliver insights, trends and recommendations to continually improve Elastic’s competitive edge. This highly impactful position needs a doer to collaborate with internal partners and external sources to collect, analyze and display data that drives our sales enablement objectives. Elastic is data driven, and this role will be responsible for creating living dashboards of critical content (market intelligence, win/loss data, sales trends) to provide leadership timely data to make decisions.

The team is diverse and distributed across the world, and collaborates daily with a variety of tools. You should be able to guide discussions to help the team make decisions together.

Some of the things you’ll work on
  • Use a variety of off the shelf and developer tools to create engaging data dashboarding to inform elastic leadership of market trends
  • Actively track market trends and industry developments to and deliver presentations that accurately represent market positioning
  • Relentless analysis of Elastic’s Win/Loss data, key decision drivers and market performance versus the competition
  • Participate in significant industry events to stay current
  • Lead internal competitive enablement sessions and ideate with sales, product, and engineering teams on how best to develop meaningful data representations to drive product and marketing decisions
  • Build market intelligence subject-matter expertise and credibility vital to independently assist with QBR, fiscal planning and direct sales engagements
  • Own weekly competitive intelligence news and digest communications
What experience you will bring
  • Data expert, skilled in dashboarding, manipulation and explanation of data from multiple sources (Salesforce, IDC, Gartner, etc.)
  • Analytical and creative, with big picture thinking around how quarterly data insights can be used to drive current and future business objectives
  • Collaborative and team oriented, a purveyor of Elastic’s Source Code
Desired experience
  • Market Intelligence experience is helpful (TAM/SAM/Market Share/Market Insights)
  • Win/Loss data tracking and CRM experience is a plus
  • Prior data intelligence or market intelligence experience around dashboarding and delivery of insights
  • Familiar with common search, security and observability solutions and vendors is helpful

Compensation for this role is in the form of base salary.  This role does not have a variable compensation component.  

The typical starting salary range for new hires in this role is listed below.  In select locations (including Seattle WA, Los Angeles CA, the San Francisco Bay Area CA, and the New York City Metro Area), an alternate range may apply as specified below. 

These ranges represent the lowest to highest salary we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting.  We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the ranges may be modified in the future.  

An employee's position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.

Elastic believes that employees should have the opportunity to share in the value that we create together for our shareholders. Therefore, in addition to cash compensation, this role is currently eligible to participate in Elastic's stock program.  Our total rewards package also includes a company-matched 401k with dollar-for-dollar matching up to 6% of eligible earnings, along with a range of other benefits offered with a holistic emphasis on employee well-being.
