About the role

As the Senior Director of Global Partnerships, you will be crucial in driving our company’s growth by identifying and executing strategic partnerships and opportunities. Reporting to our Vice President of Global Distribution & Partnerships, you will be responsible for cultivating relationships with key industry players, negotiating complex agreements, and expanding our content distribution channels. You will identify and assess new distribution partnerships and opportunities, work closely with cross-functional teams, and stay informed of emerging trends, business models, and technologies. In addition, you will drive Crunchyroll subscriber growth by collaborating with local partners. This role will be a region expert for the Crunchyroll Business Development team in India, driving all three key BD pillars in the region – Distribution, Partner Management, and Flywheel+.  

Distribution 

  • Identifies, evaluates, and leads distribution opportunities and partnerships that align with our strategic objectives.
  • Collaborates closely with cross-functional teams, including content, marketing, finance, legal, and product, to ensure alignment and partner opportunities.
  • Leads and negotiates intricate agreements with partners to ensure effective distribution and monetization of our content.
  • Stays up-to-date with industry trends and developments to inform strategy and decision-making. 

Partner Management 

  • Develops and oversees the execution of account plan(s) to ensure partners drive Crunchyroll subscriber growth via various distribution points.
  • Collaborates closely with internal stakeholders (Partnership Marketing, Brand Management team, Publicity, Product, etc) on upcoming partner campaigns and activations to promote title marketing and Crunchyroll brand on partners’ platforms.
  • Proactively develops a strong understanding of the partners’ business to drive new business opportunities and subscriber growth. Advocates on behalf of the partners internally, ensuring their requests and needs are being addressed.

Flywheel+

  • Assists in the scoping and strategy of new incubation initiatives with regional expertise and support. 
  • Grows, supports, and evolves existing flywheel+ initiatives that are looking to expand within the region.

About You

  • You have 12+ years of experience in content distribution, focusing on digital platforms such as Telco, OTT, hardware, and more, with a deep understanding of the Indian market.
  • You have a proven track record of driving revenue and subscriber growth, while expanding distribution networks in India.
  • You possess strong negotiation skills and have experience handling complex agreements.
  • You understand the Indian media and entertainment industry and are aware of the evolving trends and market dynamics.
  • You have excellent communication and presentation skills, enabling you to influence and build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • You are skilled in data analysis and problem-solving, using insights to drive strategic decisions.
  • You are proactive, self-driven, and can thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • You have strong organizational and project management skills, capable of managing multiple projects and priorities.
  • You hold a Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field; an MBA is preferred.
