Senior Engineering Manager, Cloud
We’re in an unbelievably exciting area of tech and are fundamentally reshaping the data storage industry. Here, you lead with innovative thinking, grow along with us, and join the smartest team in the industry.
This type of work—work that changes the world—is what the tech industry was founded on. So, if you're ready to seize the endless opportunities and leave your mark, come join us.
THE ROLEAs an Engineering Manager, you will lead multiple critical pillars of Pure’s Cloud strategy—building the platform that transforms enterprise storage into a programmable, cloud-like service. You will guide a senior engineering organization responsible for the Fusion, Pure Data Hub, and Metrics systems that connect on-prem infrastructure with Pure’s cloud control plane. Your teams will design and operate the secure, high-throughput data and control paths that enable policy-driven automation, deep observability, and fleet-wide consistency at scale. Working across storage, distributed systems, and cloud platforms, you will translate complex technical and operational requirements into reliable, intuitive experiences that shape how customers deploy, operate, and consume storage.
WHAT YOU’LL DO- Own the strategy and execution of key cloud-based Fusion platform components, including the data hub, public APIs, and metrics systems that connect on-prem storage with Pure’s cloud control plane.
- Lead teams building highly available, secure, and scalable communication paths between distributed systems, enabling automation, observability, and fleet-wide consistency across a global installed base.
- Grow and mentor senior engineering talent, establishing clear technical ownership, strong architectural standards, and a culture where quality, reliability, and delivery excellence reinforce each other.
- Drive end-to-end delivery of Cloud platform initiatives, coordinating dependencies across device, cloud, and product teams to deliver capabilities that improve customer insight, control, and security.
- Define, track, and act on operational KPIs spanning reliability, performance, security, and platform observability, ensuring the Fusion platform scales ahead of customer and data growth.
- Act as a unifying force across organizations, reducing architectural friction, simplifying delivery paths, and translating product strategy into focused engineering execution.
- Engineering Leadership: A strong track record (10+ years) leading and scaling engineering teams building complex distributed systems, cloud platforms, or cloud-connected infrastructure products.
- Platform Mindset: Experience owning multi-team platforms with public APIs, data pipelines, and operational metrics, balancing extensibility with long-term maintainability.
- Technical Depth: Deep understanding of cloud-to-edge system design, including security models, data integrity, latency trade-offs, and large-scale observability.
- Operational Rigor: Proven ability to build and operate resilient, mission-critical systems, making sound decisions under pressure while protecting customer trust.
- Influence & Clarity: Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to lead through ambiguity, align diverse stakeholders, and drive results through clear technical and organizational direction.
We are primarily an in-office environment and therefore, you will be expected to work from the Prague office in compliance with Pure’s policies, unless you are on PTO, or work travel, or other approved leave.
