The Team & Role

 

Togai is a cutting-edge metering, rating, and usage-based billing platform. We provide businesses with a single, comprehensive solution to meter, rate, and bill customers for any pricing model. Togai was recently acquired by Zuora and we're seeking a solid Engineering Leader to drive our product development.

 

We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Engineering Manager to join our team and lead the development of our metering, rating & usage-based billing platform. This role is critical in building highly scalable and extensible product, translating the product team’s vision to customer deliverables, working closely with cloud infrastructure, information security and customer success teams to deliver a world-class solution.

 

What you will own:

 

  • Product Roadmap Execution
    • Work hand in hand with product managers in roadmap planning.
    • Collaborate with technical project managers to facilitate inter team requirement planning and execution.
    • Plan the task execution and resource allocation within your team to ensure on-time delivery of features, enhancements, maintenance and performance optimisation action items.

 

  • Manage Product Architecture
    • Devise the high level and low level design for features.
    • Manage the data flows via APIs, schedulers and background workers to provide the optimal user experience in the product.
    • Design the RESTful APIs and their request-response definitions in a developer friendly manner.

 

  • Cross-functional Collaboration
    • Act as primary liaison with design, frontend, platform, core billing and other product teams to provide the best in class end to end product solution.
    • Coordinate with quality engineering, cloud infrastructure and information security to maintain and improve the non-functional aspects of the product.
    • Collaborate with customer success and global solutions teams in quick resolution of customer pain points and provide a forward looking solution in both our product and the customer’s implementation.

 

  • Drive Innovation Initiatives
    • Oversee adoption of new and relevant technologies.
    • Identify and address key performance improvement areas.

 

  • Lead Engineering Team
    • Mentor and develop engineers.
    • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.

 

Your experience:

 

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • 10+ years of product development experience, preferably some portion of it in SaaS or B2B software.
  • Experience in building high throughput, low latency and cost optimal applications.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure and scalability strategies.
  • Expertise in microservices architecture, RESTful API designs.
  • Proficiency in containerization technologies, high-performance databases, in-memory data stores and distributed datastores.
  • Deep understanding of DevOps tools and security frameworks.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to influence without direct authority.
  • Ability to think strategically and make data-driven decisions.

 

Good to haves:

 

  • Experience in metering, billing, or subscription management platforms
  • Knowledge on building features targeted at enterprise customers like auditability, role based access control systems, sandbox management, analytics and reporting etc.
  • Expertise in frontend technologies, architecture and implementation strategies.
