Our Opportunity:

The Senior Payroll Tax Analyst is responsible for ensuring the Company’s ongoing compliance with all federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations. This individual is responsible for analyzing, researching, and resolving issues and addressing related tax inquiries. This individual will specialize in payroll regulatory compliance across all states in which employees reside. This individual may also work with partners in Human Resources, Third Party Vendors, and other internal departments on various initiatives. Does this sound like you? What You’ll Do:

  • Serve as escalation point and SME for complex payroll and tax issues, including amendments and tax discrepancies.
  • Lead month, quarter, and year-end payroll tax process. Run payroll tax integrations, research, correct discrepancies and prepare reconciliations.
  • Responsible for ensuring the execution of monthly, quarterly, and annual worker’s comp audit and tax incentive requests.
  • RSU processing including pre-payments/reversals, running integrations, researching, and correcting tax variances.
  • Create and maintain complex Workday and payroll system reports.
  • Maintain, test, and implement payroll tax updates, functionality, and process improvements.
  • Research regulatory changes and assess impact to payroll systems and processes.
  • Lead and support payroll projects, system testing, and issue resolution across teams.
  • Mentor and guide payroll team members; support management with departmental goals, projects, and continuous improvement initiatives.

What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in related area, or relevant field. An appropriate combination of education and work experience will be considered.
  • 5+ years of experience processing high-volume, multi-state payroll and managing payroll tax for mid- to large-size companies.
  • Hands on and strong knowledge/experience with ADP Smart Compliance, Workday, and KRONOS.
  • Experience of federal and state regulations related to salaries, wages, taxes, benefits, and other payroll related matters required.
  • Experience of payroll accounting.
  • Consistently achieves goals by prioritizing work and resources appropriately.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
  • Advanced Microsoft office skills (Excel, Word)
  • Able to work independently in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with tight deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and able to work collaboratively.

Bonus:

  • FPC or CPP certification preferred.
