Senior People Analyst, Research & Insights
The salary range for this position is $104,500 - $118,250 per year. The base salary offered may vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
This hybrid position will be based in our Boston office Monday- Thursday, with Fridays remote.
Wayfair is evolving its People Analytics function into an Analytics Center of Excellence (ACE) and we are seeking a Senior Analyst to join our Research & Insights lane and drive our mission forward! In this pivotal role, you'll act as a strategic partner, leveraging advanced analytics to diagnose talent challenges and provide data-driven recommendations that shape our talent strategy and enhance the employee experience. This role will report into the Head of People Analytics and requires a proactive self-starter who can thrive in ambiguous situations and autonomously drive work from start to finish. You'll partner with stakeholders across levels to understand their needs, pressure-test for impact, and work towards scalable solutions. You will apply your expertise in applied statistical research and advanced analytics to answer high-impact business questions and produce accurate, high-quality analyses. Your ability to build a compelling narrative with data will be essential for communicating complex insights to a senior audience.
What You'll Do
- Consultative Partnership: Act as a consultative partner for the organization, building relationships with stakeholders across different levels and teams. You will apply your expertise to provide data-driven recommendations and help them make informed talent decisions.
- Research & Advanced Analytics: Conduct in-depth research and build advanced analytical models to proactively identify and solve complex talent challenges.
- Employee Listening: Work on employee listening programs, designing and implementing strategies to gather and analyze employee feedback to improve engagement and retention.
- Data Storytelling: Translate sophisticated analyses into a logical, convincing business narrative that is easy to follow and resonates with a senior audience.
- External Research & Benchmarking: Conduct external research and benchmarking to provide additional context and insights on the state of our talent organization
- AI for Analytics: Explore and leverage AI to enhance our workflows and enable a strong user experience with our products.
- Collaboration & Mentorship: Collaborate effectively as a team player, working with colleagues to share knowledge and contribute to the overall success of the team. In this capacity, you will also develop, mentor, and potentially manage junior analysts.
What You'll Need
- 3+ years of experience in people analytics or a similar analytical role in a fast-paced environment.
- Quantitative Skills: A bachelor's or master's degree in a quantitative or I/O field (e.g., Business Analytics, Data Science, Mathematics, Economics, or Statistics) with a strong command of statistics. Demonstrated ability to solve complex business problems using data analysis and modeling.
- Technical Proficiency: Extensive experience using at least one structured programming language (e.g., SQL, Python, or R) is required. Proficiency with dashboarding tools like Visier, Looker, or Tableau is a plus.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills with a proven track record of building compelling narratives with data.
- Collaboration: The ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholder groups, communicate with various audiences, and balance/negotiate priorities.
- Integrity: The integrity, maturity, and respect to handle sensitive employee data.
