Who We Are (Service Technology)

As a Senior Product Designer on the Service Technology Product Development team at Wayfair, you will be a key contributor to the design and development of customer service technology solutions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including product management, engineering, machine learning, and data analytics to create innovative, user-centric designs that enhance the customer experience and drive business outcomes.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the end-to-end design process for new features and enhancements, from concept to launch.
  • Collaborate with product managers to define product requirements and user stories.
  • Conduct user research, usability testing, and gather feedback to inform design decisions.
  • Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs that effectively communicate design concepts.
  • Work closely with engineering teams to ensure designs are implemented accurately and efficiently.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior designers.
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices in design and technology.

 

What You’ll Need

  • You are an empathetic designer, a conversation driver, and skilled in design iterations.
  • Your proficiency in UX design is highly impressive, and your passion for clarity and simplicity serves as a driving force behind your work.
  • 3+ years of professional UX experience.
  • Strong understanding of design processes; specifically in User Experience and User Interface design.
  • Knowledge of what is possible and what will be hard to achieve and implement in a digital environment.
  • A strong understanding of e-commerce, B2B, or SaaS best practices.
  • The ability to think at a system level, designing solutions that are scalable and extensible beyond a single use.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills: ability to present and articulate ideas, openness to evolve opinions that challenge beliefs respectfully
  • Are proficient in industry-standard tools in design and collaboration tools like Figma and Miro.
  • Expertise in producing relevant deliverables, and prototypes, including detailed site maps, user flows/task flows, user journeys, page flows, wireframes, annotations, and prototypes that represent interaction design.
  • The ability to design and execute usability tests and other user research activities.
  • An online portfolio of case studies that demonstrates successful advocacy for the end-user, highlighting: digital product design work, analytical decision-making, and strategic thinking.
  • Nice to Have:
    • Experience designing for e-commerce or customer service technology
    • Familiarity with design systems and component libraries
    • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
