As a Senior Data Engineer on the Data Engineering team, you will take the helm in designing and developing sophisticated cloud-based solutions to ensure our data pipelines are sturdy, efficient, and designed to scale appropriately, while also meeting data governance best practices. You will drive impactful projects, optimizing our data systems to support everything from analytics to machine learning. What you’ll be doing:

  • Architect and develop scalable, high-performance data pipelines to meet the needs of our growing user base, focusing on cloud-native solutions (AWS, GCP).
  • Spearhead initiatives to enhance and sustain our data infrastructure, ensuring steadfast and stable data flow to support groups including product management, data analysis, and ML engineering teams.
  • Develop and enhance real-time and batch processing systems utilizing platforms such as Kafka, Apache Beam, Airflow, and additional advanced technologies.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers, data analysts, and ML engineers to develop solutions that align with business needs, performance, and compliance.
  • Apply advanced software engineering principles to build and maintain services that are secure, efficient, and future-proof.
  • Assume responsibility for advanced technical projects, mitigate outdated code, and enhance system robustness, scalability, and economic efficiency.
  • Provide guidance to emerging engineers, promoting a culture of team-based education, advancement, and originality.
  • Stay engaged with the latest trends in cloud technologies, streaming architectures, and data processing tools, constantly improving Trustpilot’s data capabilities.

 

Who you are:

  • Deep expertise in software engineering principles, with proficiency in Python, Java, or similar languages.
  • Proficient in utilizing cloud services such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, paired with a comprehension of cloud-native architectural principles.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and enhancing data flow processes through the use of technologies such as Kafka, Apache Beam, Airflow, and comparable streaming platforms.
  • Experience working with both relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., DynamoDB, MongoDB, BigQuery), with a solid understanding of data modelling and query optimization.
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Proficient in verbal and written exchanges, capable of collaborating efficiently with diverse teams, encompassing roles in data science, analytics, and product engineering.
  • A mindset oriented toward progress, tirelessly pursuing advancements in cloud technologies and refining data engineering methodologies.
  • Experience mentoring and supporting junior team members, with a collaborative approach to solving complex problems.
