THE ROLE
You will be a key Senior Software Engineer driving the digital transformation of Pure Storage, focused on innovating and enhancing our Modern Data platforms. Your mission is to design and implement highly reliable, high-performance algorithms and technologies that redefine the customer experience. This role requires an senior engineer who will use a deep understanding of organizational objectives to resolve complex issues and deliver innovative, end-to-end solutions alongside cross-functional engineering and product teams.
WHAT YOU'LL DO

Implement strategic policies and develop novel, high-performance algorithms for distributed systems, ensuring the achievement of challenging goals (e.g., six 9's reliability).

Own the end-to-end delivery of innovations, from initial concept and design through final testing and deployment into a shipped product, driving critical business outcomes.

Analyze and resolve complex technical issues where a deep evaluation of variable factors is required, serving as a subject matter expert and selecting appropriate methods and techniques for obtaining results.

Network with key contacts outside your immediate area of expertise to gather requirements and validate solutions, influencing system design decisions across functional boundaries.

Mentor junior engineers and coordinate the technical activities of a project sub-team to maintain schedules and align with architectural vision.
WHAT YOU BRING

Extensive experience designing, developing, and deploying systems software using languages such as C++, Java, or Go.

In-depth knowledge and proven ability to successfully implement solutions within complex systems software domains (e.g., Distributed Systems, Operating Systems, Database Internals, Containerization).

Demonstrated expertise in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria to resolve complex technical issues, exercising independent judgment in solution implementation.

Strong design sensibility and the ability to articulate, advocate for, and defend architectural choices in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

A track record of establishing and assuring adherence to performance requirements, work plans, and schedules for significant engineering initiatives.
- You will be based in Santa Clara, CA. As this is an office-centric role, you are expected to be present in the office for 4 days a week. As outlined in Pure's Hybrid Work Policy, there will be variations over periods of time, depending on business need.

Salary ranges are determined based on role, level and location. For positions open to candidates in multiple geographical locations, the base salary range is reflective of the labor market across the applicable locations.
This role may be eligible for incentive pay and/or equity.
