HotelTonight is a part of the Airbnb family. The hotels team at Airbnb is responsible for taking HotelTonight into  new directions and scale. The Airbnb platform also has hotel listings and the hotels team develops systems that help the Airbnb ecosystem have a wide selection of accommodation choices for our guests and the most effective tools for hosts to onboard, manage and thrive on Airbnb.

We are looking for a senior web engineer. You should have a deep expertise in front-end engineering. You must be value-driven and product-oriented. You will end up having significant influence on both hotel facing and guest facing web surfaces for HotelTonight and Airbnb. You should be able to partner with technical peers to shape the architecture of our front end systems and with designers and product managers to make our web surfaces a delight to use.

• Refining the features with our Product Team, resolving product trade-offs.
• Designing features and planning its integration directly into production.
• Developing features iteratively during AGILE sprints.
• Writing unit and integration tests, reviewing other’s code.
• Pushing to production multiple times per day (heavy use of feature toggling).
• Acting on user feedback to turn the feature into perfection.
• Collaborate with the team in USA and Germany

• 7+ years of experience
• Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree, preferably in CS, or equivalent experience
• Experience developing for the Web.
• Passionate about efficiency, availability, and technical quality.
• Passionate about design and building UX products. You bring flexibility to collaboration with design and product partners by presenting tradeoffs and iterating to the ideal solution.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills and the ability to work well within a large engineering organization as well as cross functionally.
• Strong collaboration via code reviews and architecture discussions, and motivated to improve their teammates’ productivity.
• Experience working on a product engineering team or customer-centric platform team supporting a medium to large engineering organization.
