Senior Writer | Energy
Red Ventures is seeking a Senior Writer to join the Energy team. With a primary focus on creating customer-centric, long-form content, the Senior Writer will help consumers navigate the complex energy industry. The ideal candidate is an experienced writer with excellent storytelling, project management and communication skills. Additionally, the candidate should have demonstrated examples of thoughtful B2C content incorporating SEO best practices. This contributor will partner with SEO analysts and editors to leverage data and drive incremental growth through strategic page optimizations.
What You’ll Do:
- Research, write and update authoritative content on energy-related topics, meeting monthly production goals.
- Develop original ideas to form engaging and informative articles, guides, reviews and other forms of content that cater to the needs of audiences.
- Understand and incorporate business goals into content goals.
- Ensure content aligns with our brand voice, tone and style guidelines.
- Guide and mentor other writers to help them further develop their voice, style and subject matter expertise.
- Stay up-to-date with energy industry news and trends, and contextualize that information into actionable takeaways for consumers.
- Apply SEO best practices to increase rankings and drive traffic to new and existing content.
- Collaborate with internal teams to produce thoughtful, well-rounded content suited for different marketing needs.
What We’re Looking For:
- 5–6 years of professional experience in an editorial or journalism role.
- Excellent written communication.
- Demonstrated expertise with long-form SEO content, incorporating EEAT concepts.
- Strong research, writing and editing skills, with an ability to convey complex information in a clear and accessible manner.
- Ability to mentor a team of like-minded professionals while simultaneously performing the required duties of the senior writer position.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with remote teammates.
- Self-motivated and able to work autonomously, as well as collaboratively in team and cross-functional settings.
- Knowledge of AP Style and experience using internal style guides.
- Exceptional organizational strategies with the ability to hone and implement production processes.
- Energy industry experience is preferred.
Compensation
- Cash Compensation Range: $60,000 - 90,000/year *Note actual salary is based on geographic location, qualifications, and experience.
