SEO Manager
Our Opportunity:
Chewy is seeking a Content SEO Manager to join our high-performing SEO team in our Bellevue, WA or Boston, MA office. You will be joining a team responsible for planning, implementing and managing the Content Organic Search strategy for Chewy. You will ensure our eCommerce pages meet the highest content quality and organization standards required for competitive keyword ranking. You will uncover valuable informational content opportunities that directly engage pet parents, covering a wide range of animals from dogs and cats to parakeets, pigs, horses and more. You’ll execute the strategy by collaborating with Editorial, Category Management and Site Merchandisers while working with a large SEO team.
This role demands a seasoned professional with extensive Search Engine Optimization expertise, requiring a minimum of five years of hands-on Content SEO experience. The ideal candidate possesses a comprehensive understanding of content and eCommerce SEO, including in-depth knowledge of Google's web crawling processes and the ability to identify opportunities for enhancing site visibility in search engines. Responsibilities include evaluating and managing the company's Content SEO strategy in relation to competitors, as well as analyzing data to develop strategic plans that align with business objectives. Beyond technical proficiency, the role calls for an individual who is passionate about search and digital marketing, with a strong grasp of digital storytelling. This person should be adept at leveraging search capabilities to uncover content opportunities specifically tailored for an eCommerce website. This candidate must also have experience developing and supporting YouTube and TikTok Organic Search strategies.
What You’ll Do:
- Communicate your strategy, goals, and progress to goals in a written format to senior leaders and internal stakeholders.
- Conduct experiments to test hypotheses you develop through data analysis; analyze and share experiment results.
- Exhibit a strong sense of ownership, bias for action, and superior communication skills; be willing to roll up your sleeves to get the job done.
- Comprehensive understanding of best SEO practices.
- Develop and implement content-focused SEO strategies aligned with our eCommerce and editorial goals.
- Conduct in-depth keyword research and competitor analysis to identify opportunities for Organic growth.
- Create and optimize on-page content for both product pages and informational articles.
- Deliver detailed content briefs to guide writers and ensure SEO best practices are followed.
- Collaborate with content creators, marketing teams, and web developers to implement SEO recommendations.
- Monitor and analyze website performance using SEO tools and analytics platforms.
- The ability to identify Technical SEO issues and communicate your discovery to our Technical SEO.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest SEO trends and algorithm changes.
What You’ll Need:
- 5-8 years of experience in SEO, preferably in eCommerce and with a well-known brand.
- Proven track record of improving Organic Search performance for large-scale websites.
- Expert-level knowledge of keyword research tools and techniques.
- YouTube SEO experience.
- TikTok SEO experience.
- Strong understanding of on-page optimization and content organization for SEO.
- Experience in creating and optimizing content for both eCommerce and editorial purposes.
- Proficiency in using SEO tools such as Google Search Console, Screaming Frog, Conductor, SEMrush.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Digital Marketing, or a related field.

Compensation & Benefits:
Our salary range for a SEO Manager position is $110,500.00 - $176,000.00. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate’s relevant experience, education, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for 401k, and a new hire and annual equity grant.
