We are looking for University students pursuing a Computer Science degree who are interested in a 2025 Summer Internship and who are passionate about building large-scale, mission-critical software in a fast-paced agile environment. The ideal candidate will share our passion and pride in deploying mission-critical systems at scale and have an interest in solving one-of-a-kind problems.
We are looking for dynamic and collaborative software engineering interns to join the Site Reliability team. We also have opportunities across a wide range of areas within our engineering organization.

We have offices in San Francisco's SoMa district and downtown Bellevue, Washington.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Implement features in a Scrum/Agile environment
- Design and deploy high-performance, scalable software features
- Interest in operating systems, containers and deploying highly-reliable, mission-critical software at scale.
Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to program in at least one programming language (e.g. Java, python, ruby, or Go)
- Basic understanding of containerized services like Docker, Kubernetes
- Knowledge of RDBMs’, NoSQL databases, Containers or Application Servers (experience in one or more preferred)
- Basic understanding of networking, encryption, authentication and authorization
- Experience using with a cloud web service and its API (AWS/GCP)
- Interest or experience with Infrastructure-as-Code technologies, especially Terraform
- Past summer internship experience, ideally in enterprise software companies
Education and Training: (In progress) B.S., MS, or PhD in Computer Science or related field

As an intern, you’ll do real work that matters. While you’re on board, you’ll work on meaningful projects and have an opportunity to see what working at Okta is all about. You’ll also have the support of your mentor and manager to help you develop new skills.

We want you to grow professionally and you’ll do that through participating in events like our Executive Speaker Series and Brown Bags. And of course, we want you to have fun too.
Interns may choose the format of their internship: either in-person at one of our Okta offices, or virtually. We give our interns the opportunity to choose the option that best suits their needs. We offer 12 week internships in the U.S. in the Summer and 16 week co-ops in Canada.
