Our Opportunity:

Chewy is looking for a Full Stack Software Engineer to join our Customer Care Technology Team. The expectations of the prospective candidate will be the design, development, testing, implementation, and support of applications and related integrations. In this role, the ideal candidate will engage in iterative development, testing, and make contributions to the growth and development. This individual will partner with both technical and business teams on multiple initiatives and collaborate to deliver new features and improvements. 

What you'll do:

  • Play a hands-on role to craft, build, test and deploy frontend components.
  • Decompose sophisticated problems into simple straight-forward solutions that operationally scale and are easily maintained.
  • Apply standard methodologies for technology, process, and design
  • Build a culture of innovation through rapid prototyping and continuous delivery to Production.
  • Collaborate to identify, isolate and resolve malfunctions related to software and Ensure that technical solutions follow standard methodologies, are reliable, easily maintainable, and scalable under sustained load.

What you'll need:

  • A bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • 1+ years of professional or academic software development experience that includes experience building, deploying and testing front end applications, APIs and microservices.
  • Experience with React and Java (Spring Boot).
  • Solid understanding of algorithms and data structures.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing requirements and deliver quality code.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong time management and organization skills with ability to balance multiple priorities at a given time.

Bonus:

  • Masters in Computer Science or related field
  • Experience in e-commerce and/or customer service technology
  • Experience developing CI/CD pipeline in Jenkins
  • Experience with automated testing tools
