With the Lending product, SumUp provides loans to enable our merchants all over the globe to grow their businesses. Our goal is to remove bias in lending by building a fast, reliable, and data-driven process into the background and user-facing systems. We believe that we can achieve this ambitious goal only with solid engineering practices.

We are looking for a Software Engineer to be responsible for elevating the SumUp Lending product to the next level by implementing a variety of new functionalities. You will have the opportunity to grow and maintain Golang and React services that handle a large daily volume of data requiring resilient and scalable asynchronous processing. 

• Implement high-quality code, test, and validate the success of its usage.
• Be able to quickly identify blockers and ask for help during the implementation.
• Consume and produce technical documentation from and to external teams.
• Engage with product managers and stakeholders to understand customer pains and business opportunities.
• Contribute to the design process of the solutions from the perspective of building a product and following engineering best practices.

• 2+ years of experience on Agile teams
• Experience with a modern stack of technologies
• Good English communication skills to engage in technical refinements with an international team

• Experience with Golang programming language
• Experience in a fintech/startup environment
• You’re excited about asynchronous processing, data engineering, or data science.
