Role Description:

We are seeking a skilled Backend Software Engineer (Java) to join our development team. In this role, you’ll be designing, developing, and maintaining server-side services. You will collaborate closely with software engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to deliver robust and scalable solutions. 

The Market Voice and Video team has built the core of Audio and Video communication in the Symphony app using WebRTC. We are a small team of developers that works with Java and media backend services. The team is passionate about CI/CD best practices. We’re looking for top-notch talent to join our team to help us change the way the world communicates.

We are seeking someone who asks questions, shares own ideas as well as learns from others, proactively communicates, and can be accountable for own deliverables.

 

Responsibilities:

You will be a contributor in our backend development team with following responsibilities:

  • Design, implement and test scalable server-side microservices (Java, Spring Boot) and their interaction with the Symphony ecosystem
  • Contribute to Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) solutions with Jenkins at the center
  • Collaborate with the product team to gather requirements and other engineering teams to perform product integration
  • Investigate issues or performance bottlenecks, document failure analysis, post-mortem, and root cause analysis when required
  • Participate constructively and collaboratively in backend design and code reviews

 

Required Qualifications:

  • BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field and 5+ years’ of practical experience in software development
  • Strong proficiency in Java, with a good understanding of its ecosystems and Spring Framework (Spring Boot)
  • Experience working with tools, such as Docker, K8s, Terraform, Git, Jenkins
  • Experienced working in GCP and/or AWS cloud environments
  • Nice to have experience working with WebRTC
