Position Overview:

Essential Functions:

This hands-on, detail-oriented position will:

  • Oversight of all semi-annual financial reporting and compliance with GAAP, SEC, and international rules (Luxemburg and US). Prepared with use of Workiva (cloud-based software).
  • Understand trial balance activities including income, expenses (including management & incentive fees), derivative transactions, currency implications and dividend distributions
  • Prepare monthly internal and external NAV reports (ie Fact Cards)
  • Prepare quarterly commentary and Manager Discussion & Analysis summaries
  • Prepare board materials, as necessary
  • Assist in audit coordination, audit query resolution and provide feedback on financial statements
  • Calculate Fund quarterly distributions and dividends, with applicable foreign tax withholding
  • Review, re-vamp and execute policy and procedure updates for Finance and Accounting team
  • Re-vamp and oversight of Sarbanes Oxley process
  • Ensure fund compliance with relevant regulatory bodies (i.e. IRS, SEC, CSSF, etc.) for 40 Act Funds and international Funds in Lux, Australia and Cayman
  • Confirm compliance with investor side letters
  • Perform risk management on regular basis, assessing current known information
  • Review of Credit Facilities (asset coverage) and submitting quarterly compliance
  • Organizing and evaluating RIC tests and Risks
  • Support jurisdictional tax and other regulatory reporting requirements
  • Assist with conforming Prospectus and Offering Memorandum filings across US, Lux, Australia and Cayman
  • Lead the performance measurement function for SPW funds
  • Responsible for global performance measurement and attribution including the calculation of internal rates of return, time weighted returns, equity multiples, selection and allocation attribution, tracking errors, and various ad hoc requests
  • Provide timely and regular performance analysis and reporting against targets and benchmarks
  • Assist with the design and implementation of performance dashboards to summarize current portfolio positioning and historical performance as well as oversight of performance systems to ensure accuracy of reports and associated data
  • Manage global RFP process of performance data to ensure accuracy and adherence with industry standards
  • Ensure deliverable deadlines are monitored and achieved
  • Assist with ad hoc special projects including fund launches, liquidations, data requests, etc.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Must possess a four-year college degree with a major in Accounting
  • Minimum six years of accounting or audit experience
  • Previous experience with Investment Company Accounting and ASC 820 (FAS 157) preferred
  • A strong understanding of SEC regulations, with a particular focus on the Investment Advisers Act of 1940 (“40 Act”)

Knowledge, Skills, and Ability Requirements:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong Microsoft Excel experience
  • Ability to multi-task and manage priorities against key deadlines
  • Ability to managing and develop junior staff members

Other Attributes:

  • Must be able to work independently, but contribute in a team-oriented environment
  • CPA preferred
