Pinterest’s Trust & Safety Tools team is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to build tooling that keeps Pinners safe and inspired. Backing up Pinterest’s promise of being a positive corner of the internet, our team is responsible for supporting operations agents, analysts, and other engineers with content safety efforts with internal tools to aid in scaled content moderation. As part of this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving the data systems that Pinterest uses to log business data.
What you’ll do:
- Leverage Python, MySQL, and other data skills to resolve current pain-points and suggest future improvements
- Provide easy integration points/APIs with web-based tooling that serves thousands of agents and millions of users
- Partner with T&S Operations, Policy, and Product, and other engineering teams across Pinterest
- Serve on an on-call rotation (roughly 1 week of every 8) to support our tools
What we’re looking for:
- 5+ years experience with Python, SQL, SparkSQL, Hive and/or other data systems
- Experience mentoring more junior engineers
- Comfortable diving into ambiguous technical problems, working closely with Product, Legal, Policy and Operations teams
- Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly in writing and verbally to many stakeholders
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, or equivalent experience
