SR. MANAGER, COMMERCIAL LAUNCH SALES

The Commercial Launch Sales Team at SpaceX is responsible for selling launch services to new and existing customers, including satellite operators and manufacturers, foreign governments, private astronauts, and space exploration pioneers. You will take ownership of assigned client relationships and commercial launch opportunities. While you will receive direct mentorship from your leaders, your work will be largely self-directed. SpaceX evolves rapidly, and you will be a critical asset to the sales team as we work to collectively advance our presence in the launch market across the galaxy.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Sell SpaceX launch services, manage customer relationships, and develop new sales opportunities in your designated region or markets.
  • Utilize professional selling and business development techniques combined with product knowledge to market SpaceX launches and other services.
  • Gather customer requirements and work with the product engineering team to iterate on and improve SpaceX product offerings.
  • Meet with the executive team to review business development opportunities, strategy, and current market landscape.
  • Represent SpaceX in various forums, including conferences, SpaceX launches, technology panels, etc.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 7+ years of experience in a business development or sales role.
  • 3+ years of technical sales experience.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • MBA or master's degree with a business or engineering-focused curriculum.
  • Independently motivated professional with a demonstrated track record of pursuing and closing complex deals.
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated technical aptitude for the products you’ve supported.
  • Experience in aerospace sales with established networks of contacts, preferably in Europe.
  • Strong understanding of launch vehicles or satellites.
  • Strong analytical skills in business and technical issues.
  • Completed sales training coursework in Miller Heiman’s Strategic Selling, or a similar program.
  • Multilingual.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Must be available to work extended hours and weekends as needed.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 50% of the time to customer locations and other SpaceX locations.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:                  

Senior Manager, Commercial Launch Sales: $150,000.00 - $205,000.00/per year 

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX. You may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of company stock, stock options, or long-term cash awards, as well as potential discretionary bonuses and the ability to purchase additional stock at a discount through an Employee Stock Purchase Plan. You may also accrue 3 weeks of paid vacation and will be eligible for 10 or more paid holidays per year. Exempt employees are eligible for 5 days of sick leave per year.

This position is also eligible for a sales bonus plan.
