About the job
As a Sr. Manager on the Global Events team, you will play a pivotal role in sourcing, planning, and executing innovative large scale and intimate high touch internal and customer events for Twilio. This dynamic position requires a strategic thinker with a creative edge, exceptional organizational skills, and a passion for delivering outstanding event experiences. We are looking for a creative and hands-on leader who thrives in a dynamic and fast paced environment. This role will lead all Internal Events such as Sales Kickoff, Sales Club, and VOX Summit as well as our high touch Customer Events including CABs, Exec Connect, and Analyst Summit.
Responsibilities
In this role, you’ll:

Develop and manage project plans, including documentation of strategy, objectives, deliverables, and timelines. Keep larger workstreams organized and assist with unblocking roadblocks that arise.

Own the day-to-day management of event operations and partnerships that support employee touchpoint goals and event initiatives. Step in to fill holes where needed in an ever-changing event landscape.

Streamline our planning so we can focus on delivering innovative and engaging event experiences to Twilions. Recommend areas we can automate or improve processes and work cross functionally to ensure program priorities are being met.

Spend the time to deeply understand our employees and solve problems from their perspective. Treat internal supporting organizations and workstreams as internal customers to ensure their needs are met and that the Internal Events Team maintains a strong internal reputation as being a best-in-class event team to support and partner with.

Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members and greater worldwide marketing organization to foster team growth and success. Identify areas of opportunity for future team members to own and delegate projects as needed to maintain program progression through the planning process.

Think outside the box and push team members to bring innovative ideas and solutions to the greater team to keep our events dynamic and engaging.

Ideate new ways of engaging teams in our remote environment and bring innovative solutions to complex problems.

Conceptualize, plan, and execute customer events, including but not limited to our annual user conference SIGNAL.

Coordinate all aspects of event logistics, including venue selection, budget management, vendor coordination, and on-site execution.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate event strategies into broader marketing initiatives and meet our key results.

Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand their needs and incorporate them into event planning.

Serve as workstream lead, leading status meetings, pre-program walkthroughs, and program debriefs.

Create and manage event budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and ROI.

Oversee post-event analysis to measure the success of each event against predetermined goals.

Create and maintain event timelines, ensuring that all tasks and deadlines are tracked and met.

Support overall Global Event Team initiatives.

Required:

5+ years experience in event management, hospitality, marketing, or a related field.

Excellent influencing, problem-solving, and consensus-building skills

Superior organizational, project management, and communication skills

Demonstrate attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously

Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Create a sense of urgency where needed to stay on track with important milestones and deliverables in a fast paced, dynamic environment

Experience with managing multi-million-dollar budgets and multiple vendor contracts and relationships

Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, build strong relationships and interface effectively with all levels of management and teams across multiple departments
Desired:

Experienced in delighting attendees during virtual, hybrid, and in-person events
-
Experience using Google Suite, Slack, and Airtable.
Location
This role will be remote and open to candidates in the United States.
Travel
We prioritize connection and opportunities to build relationships with our customers and each other. For this role, approximately 10% travel is anticipated to help you connect in-person in a meaningful way.

The estimated pay ranges for this role are as follows:

Based in Colorado: $102,160 - $127,700.

Based in New York, Washington State, or California (outside of the San Francisco Bay area): $108,160 - $135,200.
- Based in the San Francisco Bay area, California: $120,160 - $150,200.

This role may be eligible to participate in Twilio’s equity plan and corporate bonus plan. All roles are eligible for the following benefits: health care insurance, 401(k) retirement account, paid sick time, paid personal time off, paid parental leave.
The successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location within the state.
