The Team & Role

Zuora provides a platform for managing subscription-based businesses, handling billing, invoicing, and payments. It also integrates with accounting systems as a sub-ledger for subscription revenue. Key functions include automating recurring billing, managing revenue recognition, and providing financial reports.

 

In this role, you will manage Zuora's Accounts Receivable processes, configure its finance functions, and collaborate with teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and efficient subscription operations.

This position expects you to work based out of the Bangalore Office. 

WHAT YOU’LL ACHIEVE

  • Enable large-scale product development by setting engineering direction, fostering innovation, and ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Lead and manage engineering teams to design, develop, and deploy cutting-edge technology solutions.
  • Mentor and develop engineers, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
  • Drive the development of scalable and resilient cloud-native architectures to support Zuora’s product offerings.
  • Oversee database scaling strategies to ensure high performance and reliability for large-scale applications.
  • Collaborate with UI/UX engineering teams to implement frameworks that enhance user experience and interface design.
  • Lead API-led design initiatives and ensure effective integration of business APIs to support diverse business contexts.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Product Management, Marketing, and Customer Success, to deliver high-quality solutions that meet market demands.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive continuous improvement and innovation within the engineering team.

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

  • 9+ BTech/BE/BS Computer Engineering discipline or relevant degree  
  • 5+ years of experience specializing in full-stack software development. 
  • 4+ years of experience in managing teams and should have managed a team size of 8+ members.
  • Experience in software design patterns (E.g: solid principles)
  • Solid knowledge of HTML, CSS, SASS, excellent knowledge of Javascript, Jquery, MVC architecture and OOP programming style.
  • Ability to pick and use Javascript Frameworks
  • Backbone / Angular / EmberJs / NodeJs knowledge of version control systems like GIT.
  • Working knowledge of modern web technologies including cloud-based APIs and protocols (REST, JSON)
  • Understanding of microservices frameworks (Spring Boot or Dropwizard)
  • Experience developing apps on a PaaS with database and object modeling skills
  • Passion for exploring and experimenting with the latest application development technologies
  • Excellent Problem Solving and communication skills

Additional Key Skills:

  • Proven experience in system design with a focus on scalable architecture
  • Awareness of the trade-offs in design and technology decisions to deliver value without compromising on simplicity or performance
  • Experience in Accounts Receivable and Accounting would be a plus.
