SR. MANAGER, STOCK PLAN ADMINISTRATION

The SpaceX stock program is a key component of SpaceX's compensation philosophy and falls under the broader Finance team, reporting directly to the CFO. As the Sr. Manager, Stock Plan Administration, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of our equity programs, ensuring accurate and timely processing of equity transactions, including grants, exercises, ESPP purchases, RSU releases, etc. You will partner cross-functionally with Finance, Legal, HR, and Payroll to maintain data integrity, support compliance, and provide excellent service to our employees and stakeholders. You will also help enhance the employee equity experience and support strategic initiatives in compensation and total rewards.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and manage the team responsible for the day-to-day administration of equity programs, including processing new grants, vesting, exercises, forfeitures, purchases, releases, etc.
  • Oversee global stock plan operations, ensuring all transactions are processed accurately and on time
  • Partner with internal teams, including Finance, Legal, HR, and Payroll, to ensure seamless administration and compliance
  • Enhance reporting for stock-based compensation, including forecasting and supporting monthly financial close process
  • Maintain the integrity of equity data in the Shareworks equity platform and manage the relationship with the platform vendor, Morgan Stanley
  • Provide a high level of customer service in responding to employee and management inquiries
  • Lead efforts to educate employee population on how the equity program works and the value to them as participants

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors’ degree in business, finance, accounting, economics, mathematics, or other business field
  • 8+ years of stock administration experience
  • Experience with stock administration for private companies
  • Experience with Shareworks 

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Certified Equity Professional credential (CEP) or ability to achieve designation within two years after hire
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of regulatory and compliance matters as they relate to equity
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage competing priorities, adhere to tight deadlines and collaborate with cross functional teams
  • Ability to work independently and deliver on tight schedules
  • Knowledge and experience with international (non-USA) equity programs
  • Basic knowledge of the payroll process especially as it relates to equity
  • Familiarity with ASC 718 and tax implications of equity compensation

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Willing to work extended hours and weekends as needed
  • Travel to other SpaceX locations a few times each year
  • This position is based in Hawthorne, CA (Los Angeles area), and requires being onsite full-time – hybrid and remote work will not be considered

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:      

Pay range:      

Sr. Manager, Stock Plan Administration: $160,000.00 - $205,000.00/per year                    

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
