The Role

Pantheon’s Analytic Engineers help our business thrive through the design and application of data and analytic products. The role requires balancing your business, technical, data, and analytical prowess to enable business operations with analytics and insights. This role works cross functionally on strategic projects, often collaborating directly with senior leadership. Pantheon’s Analytic Engineers are supported by our modern cloud data, data catalog and analytics platform. This role reports to the Director of Engineering, Data Platform and resides within Pantheon’s Business Systems team.

Staff Analytics Engineers provide a crucial analytic leadership function on the data platform team. You will promote best practices, develop innovative solutions on our data platform and promote data and analytical literacy across Pantheon. You will work closely with business leaders, and our analyst community to unlock our business with data and analytics. You will help manage data as an asset by working cross-functionally with our taxonomy and data governance groups. You’ll participate in technology selections, research new data engineering and analytic methodologies, and work to improve our data literacy with minimal guidance. You will help organize and plan multi-quarter initiatives in support of our corporate data & analytics strategy. The role is highly visible, and expected to participate in Pantheon’s analyst community, and may be asked to write or speak in external data & analytics events on behalf of Pantheon’s Data Platform Team.

What you Need to Succeed

  • Naturally curious and motivated by finding new insights to share with leadership.
  • Understanding of SaaS subscription business models and their relevant analytics.
  • Experience leading, developing and implementing data & analytic products.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with business, executive and technical teams.
  • Ability to present concepts to different audiences and work with senior leadership.
  • Ability to apply technical, data and analytic strategy to support business goals.
  • Ability to get “hands on” with our Go-to-Market, Product, or G&A teams.
  • Ability to mentor analysts and analytic engineers on data & analytics best practices.
  • Ability to develop quarterly plans, and break work into team sprints.

What you Bring to the Table

  • 8+ years of experience in analytics engineering or data engineering, with a focus on large-scale data architecture, data processing, and data management.
  • Proficiency in SQL with advanced skills in windowing functions and handling large data analytics on MPP or cloud database platforms (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery).
  • Experience in cloud computing platforms, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or AWS, with a focus on scalable data architecture.
  • Hands-on experience with modern data engineering tools and platforms, including Snowflake, dbt, or Airflow.
  • Strong statistical analysis and data science skills, with experience in predictive modeling, machine learning, or advanced analytics.
  • Proven track record in developing and delivering self-service analytics solutions, including building semantic layers, dashboards, and guided analytics for business users.
  • Experience with data cataloging and data governance frameworks to ensure data quality and consistency across teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional data initiatives, including managing stakeholder expectations and delivering measurable business outcomes.
  • Proven leadership and mentorship skills, with experience guiding junior team members and fostering an analytics-driven culture.
  • Experience with SaaS subscription models and relevant business analytics to inform decision-making and optimize business performance.

The Canadian base salary range for this position is between 168,000-186,000 CAD per year. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
