We’re building a world where Identity belongs to you.

The CIC Team

Awesome tech is made by awesome people. And we’re always looking for new team members who bring the energy, passion, commitment, and collaboration that has made Okta the great company it is today.

So what do we exactly build? Okta CIC is an authentication and authorization platform designed by developers for developers. Basically, we make companies’ login boxes safe, secure, and seamless for anyone logging in. Our mission is to secure the world’s identities so innovators can innovate. But it’s a big mission that requires a lot of teamwork.

The Staff Full stack Engineer Opportunity

We’re currently hiring a Full Stack Staff Software Engineer to join our Subscription Management Engineering Team. This team is focused on supercharging the next phase of Okta CIC’s growth by owning and improving the products that manage subscriptions and entitlements. We own pricing execution from an engineering perspective, and also entitlements that allow customers to get specific items and features that they paid for. This team is incredibly important due to us touching a key part of every customer’s experience. Additionally, this engineering team has the ability to bring in new money for the business (by being creative with subscription and entitlements implementation and design), which elevates our importance and gives engineers on this team greater visibility at the company level.

What you’ll be doing

  • Build new and maintain current features by contributing across the whole technical stack.

  • Interface with a large variety of stakeholders to understand how entitlements should be designed and function.

  • Work with the pricing council to develop and roll out new subscription plans.

  • Heavily influence the team culture and iterate upon the ways we work together.

  • Mentor team members and help build processes and patterns that set them up for success.

  • Collaborate across teams to solve technical and non-technical challenges.

  • Work primarily with React/Redux, TypeScript, NodeJS, MongoDB and PostgreSQL.

  • Debug and resolve production issues and implement fixes for them.

  • Work closely with Product and Design to determine and optimize user experience and information architecture.

What you’ll bring to the role

  • Have a passion for learning.

  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment, where change is the only constant.

  • Are very comfortable designing, writing, and operating full-stack applications.

  • Have 5+ years experience with NodeJS and RESTful APIs.

  • Have an expert level understanding of JavaScript and TypeScript.

  • Have the ability to be self-directed and be effective working independently, yet feel equally comfortable contributing in a team environment.

  • Work well with technical and non-technical people to deliver high-value results.

  • Have excellent communication and collaboration skills.

  • Enjoy being part of a highly collaborative, remote-friendly environment.

  • Are able to help lead and mentor members of the team.

And extra credit if you have experience in any of the following!

  • Being part of distributed teams and work environments.

  • Working on a growth or onboarding team.

  • Experience with pricing, packaging, subscriptions, or purchasing
