Airbnb is seeking a Strategic Finance & Analytics intern to join the Strategic Finance & Analytics (SFA) team in EMEA. Our SFA team provides strategic planning, budgeting, reporting, and analytical decision-making support to cross-functional and business teams across Airbnb. The team covers key markets in Europe, Middle East and Africa ranging from emerging to mature growth. The team is focused on supporting the business to drive growth through data insights, KPI reporting, supporting investment cases and capital allocation.

- Analyze complex business problems and issues using data to provide insight to decision-makers
- Identify and interpret trends and patterns based on business data and market knowledge
- Construct and present forecasts, recommendations, and strategic/tactical plans to stakeholders and leaders
- Create specifications for reports and analysis based on business needs and required or available data elements
You can expect to:
- Drive strategic initiatives by supporting business monitoring, generating actionable insights, and contributing to decision-making through analysis.
- Own and complete a capstone project from beginning to end
- Collaborate with multiple stakeholders from different teams and functions to provide project updates and achieve project milestones
- Participate in and contribute to the Finance team and broader Airbnb community
- Deep dive on a broad range of topics, from short-term tactical activities to more challenging complex issues, working and manipulating large data sets to come up with a set of hypothesis, options and recommendations

Your expertise:
We welcome any candidate who is passionate about data and hungry to learn how to flex their muscle in providing fact-based recommendations to support business critical decisions. You are probably the right person for this role if you tick the following boxes:
- 1-3 years of professional experience in data science, analytics, financial planning and analysis, corporate development, consulting, private equity, investment banking, or business operations
- Strong organizational skills and process-oriented with the ability to define and execute projects with limited guidance and unclear scope
- Experience forming strong working relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders within and outside of finance
- Ability to communicate clearly and persuasively through both written and verbal formats
- Strong analytical skills and ability to analyze complex data to distill insights and provide data-driven business recommendations
- Experience with the following skills and tools: SQL, mathematical modeling, data analysis and visualization, Tableau and/or Superset
- Skilled user of Excel/Google Sheets
- Ability to work proactively and results-driven: always trying to learn that extra detail that can help make the most accurate decisions
- Experience with an internet marketplace business or within the travel industry is a plus
Your location:
This position is hybrid based from our London office and requires in-person office presence several days a week. We are unable to provide relocation. Work authorization for employment in the United Kingdom is required.
