About the roleWe are looking for a Subtitling Specialist, Translation & Accessibility to focus on originating English closed captioning and subtitles for emerging markets. You will be a bridge between vendors and our teams. Your experience in vendor management and subtitle translation, placement and formatting ensures that the highest quality subtitles will be offered to our customers around the world. Reporting to our Supervisor of Subtitling Operations you will handle essential tasks such as quality control of translations, research for localization, and seamless coordination across multiple departments. Your expertise ensures that content meets style and specification standards for our international audiences and our deaf and hard of hearing fans.
- You will facilitate communication with captioning & subtitling vendors for inquiries, requests, clarifications, and approvals.
- You will be the contact for our teams, ensuring effective coordination with Brand Management, Programming, Content Operations, and other relevant departments within Crunchyroll.
- You will support translation teams and help manage matters related to our terminology process.
- You will manage style guides that reflect the needs of the deaf and hard of hearing community, and evolve as those needs change.
- You will work with vendors to ensure all translations stay true to the original content but are also spec-compliant and appropriate for regional audiences.

About YouWe get excited about candidates, like you, because...
- 2+ years experience in the area of localization, specifically in managing global subtitle creation and/or captions/SDH.
- You have experience working in the entertainment Industry, ideally with animated content.
- You have hands-on experience coordinating inter-departmental projects and collaborating with external partners.
Our Localization team plays a crucial role in ensuring that anime fans worldwide can enjoy anime in a variety of languages. Our diverse and collaborative team is spread out globally, and we take pride in providing content in up to ten languages, with goals to expand further. Despite our established status, we are constantly evolving to meet the ever-changing demands of our fans.
