Chewy is recruiting for a Program Manager, Transportation Sourcing & Category Management and will be responsible for the Supply Chain Transportation category which includes the following sub-categories – Truckload, Intermodal, Drayage, Ocean, Less-Than-Truckload, Dedicated, Third-Party Logistics, and Small Parcel Transportation Services. This role will report to the Associate Director of Transportation Procurement at our headquarters in Plantation, Florida and will be based out of one of our preferred headquarter offices in Plantation, Florida or Boston, MA.

What You'll Do:

  • Develops and implements short and long term strategic plans annually each mode of transportation leveraging internal data and market indices and research to guide leadership on recommendations
  • Plans and executes sourcing strategies within the portfolio through the use of a sourcing platform
  • Identifies and realizes cost savings and reduction opportunities, gains alignment with Finance and internal stakeholders for these wins, and actively tracks post event actual savings obtained.
  • Meets regularly with internal stakeholders to align procurement strategies and cost savings opportunities. 
  • Owns the commercial relationships with internal business partners, vendors, and key suppliers to drive a best in class procurement team.
  • Leads negotiations with suppliers including contracting and contract management.
  • Keeps teams aware and update to date of industry market trends and best practices through written and verbal communication frequently
  • Drives continuous improvement opportunities through systems and process documentation and enhancements for optimal efficiency and project management.
  • Complete analysis on all bid events through the use of sourcing tools, Microsoft Excel, Tableau, DBviz, and SQL queries.
  • Develop compelling written documents that enable senior leadership to make decisions for top company initiatives
  • Assist stakeholders in development and updating of standard operating procedures
  • Ensure all business objectives are addressed and clearly communicated during bid events

What You'll Need:

  • BA or BS required; MBA preferred. Procurement certifications are a plus (e.g., CSPM, APP, ISM, IPMM or MCIPS).
  • 2+ years’ experience in strategic sourcing and developing category strategies.
  • 3+ years’ experience in transportation and supply chain experience, including experience negotiating transportation agreements.
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills.
  • Expertise in managing Transportation categories and corresponding contract negotiations.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional business partners.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel, SQL, and Tableau skills.
  • Self-motivated interest in continuous optimization.
  • Strong Analytical skills and detail orientation.
  • Experience in using sourcing tools such as Jaggaer or Coupa a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver measurable and improved results against the organization's KPI's.
  • Elevated level of customer focus and an ability to adapt to a constantly evolving environment.
  • Up to 15% travel may be required.
