🍋 This is how you’ll change the way people eat foreverWe are looking for a Sustainability Manager for our ambitious team in Amsterdam. Working in the Strategy & Analytics team you’ll take a leading role in driving and developing the Sustainability Program for HelloFresh Benelux (including the Green Chef brand). 

The Sustainability Manager has responsibility over the ecological and social projects & metrics for HelloFresh Benelux. This includes topics such as Food Waste, Packaging Waste, Ingredient Sourcing, CO2 Emissions, Healthy Diets and Social Impact. The Sustainability Manager ensures that the company continues to drive down emissions, meets its ESG requirements, remains an innovator, maintains strong external relations, and adds value for customers. 

Given HelloFresh’s position as a data-driven disruptor in the food industry, the Sustainability Manager is often at the forefront of exciting developments and innovations, and will need to adapt to a fast-paced environment. You will develop into a well-rounded individual, capable of taking on any challenge! There will be many opportunities to develop new initiatives and imbue your own creativity and personality into the role. Through close collaboration with the International Sustainability Team headquartered in Berlin, you will navigate the fast-changing world of sustainability in the food sector.

🥑 This is how you’ll make an impact

  • Manage large sustainability projects, such as the phasing-in of circular packaging, or the implementation of supply-chain CO2e reduction projects.
  • Manage external partnerships, with Food Banks, Health NGOs, Research Institutes, other Food Companies, and Universities.
  • Report on key metrics and progress, including CSRD quarterly reporting, and monthly programme update packs for internal usage.
  • Research & scope new projects and support on strategy processes
  • Design & organize experiments and analyse data to understand the current situation or impact of new initiatives
  • Train and inspire colleagues to think more sustainably, through quarterly trainings and company-wide presentations

🍉 These are the ingredients you’ll bring to the team

  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Must have a passion for Sustainability; you will drive projects proactively and independently, and are able to motivate others.
  • Project & Stakeholder Management; you will work with many different teams in the business, including on large and complex projects. You have a hands-on approach - you are willing to get involved with operational colleagues.
  • Business Mindset; you are able balance different priorities (e.g. costs, customer perception) against sustainability impact.
  • Data-drivenness; you backup your proposals and decisions with sensible numbers 
  • Analytical skills are a strong plus; e.g. Tableau, SQL and statistical knowledge, helpful for projects like Reusable Crates, Nutri-Score and Packaging Dashboard.
  • Strong Communication skills; including an ability to convince skeptical colleagues. You will be required to deal with the full spectrum of internal and external stakeholders (e.g. Food Banks, Logistics Workers, international counterparts, Senior Management).
  • Presentation skills & presentability; you will present updates to the company and represent the company at external events.
  • Entrepreneurial Mindset; you are able to proactively find new opportunities and develop them in an agile manner is a plus.
  • Knowledge and understanding of key Sustainability topics, such as carbon impact, sustainable packaging, waste hierarchies/treatment etc.
  • Fluent in English, Dutch is a strong plus.
