As a true business partner to our leaders, you will be tasked with providing strategic input, insight and advice on the People Principles and the impacts that our people have on the success of our site. You will tackle existing and potential future challenges through detailed understanding of the business objectives, key metrics, and KPIs driving success across your site(s).

What You'll Do

  • Strategic partner to business leaders on organizational effectiveness supporting a growing physical retail footprint into new states. 
  • Ensure an understanding of business needs and objectives and proactively resolve talent management and business issues.
  • Identified support strategies to increase manager capability.
  • Support all new hires to ensure there is a comprehensive orientation and on-boarding to Wayfair while ensuring a positive introduction to the company and consistency in providing company information.
  • Support and guide people leaders on the performance management process, benefits open enrollment, performance cycles, voice survey. 
  • Manage and own the absence review process, analyzing data and trends and connecting with internal leaders to react to the trends. 
  • Consistently manage people data, synthesize information and partner to develop action plans to improve the store(s). 
  • Address inquiries and provide guidance in relation to company policies and procedures
  • Promote a psychological safety work environment that adheres to Wayfair values and People Principles. Ensure employee concerns, complaints or workplace conflict are addressed and resolved timely and fairly.
  • Manage all associate relations concerns for the store(s). Work closely with people leaders to ensure leaders are equipped to lead seek to understand conversations. 
  • Develop and maintain new and existing employee documents in Workday as well as supporting compensation/payroll administration.
  • Review employee data to support modifications to policies and to drive talent management changes in addition to policy.
  • Ensure compliance with all local /country labor laws and regulations.
  • Work cross functionally with teams to develop and deliver appropriate engagement strategies.
  • Promote employee contribution and commitment by facilitating focus groups, surveys, round tables, town halls and other forums to assess and deploy culture initiatives.
  • Work closely with the wider management team and the relevant departments to ensure a highly effective talent management service while contributing to the unique Wayfair culture.
  • Administer exit interviews and collect attrition data for practical use to improve retention.
  • Lead ongoing Physical Retail project initiatives
  • Lead, develop, mentor, and inspire Talent Management team members.
  • Provide direction and monitor progress on talent department goals.
  • Collaborate effectively with Talent Acquisition and Field Enablement team.
  • Perform various other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need

  • 4+ years of experience within HR at a Manager or Business Partner level, preferably in a retail setting or other customer service setting.
  • Excellent, verbal, and written communication skills and an ability to communicate across various mediums.
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of employment law.
  • Experience handling employee relations questions and issues.
  • Customer management skills with ability to build trust, credibility, and professional relationships with employees at all levels.
  • Ideally, a Bachelor's degree in HR, Business or in a related field.
  • Ability to use independent judgment, problem-solve, be creative, and answer questions.
  • Proven ability to effectively and respectfully partner with individuals at varying levels within an organization.
