Role: Tax Accountant/Assistant Tax Manager 

Location: London- 1-2 days a week in our London office.

ROLE MISSION

Tax Assistant Manager will be part of the Global Finance Team contributing towards The Group’s global tax Compliance, Reporting and Advisory process. You will also have the opportunity to get involved with helping implement and improve processes and procedures; helping solve problems and challenges in the markets as they arise; performing administrative tasks; and getting involved in ad hoc projects. 

ABOUT THE TEAM YOU WILL BE JOINING

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING IN YOUR ROLE

  • Key responsibility, and likely bulk of the role, being the Group’s tax reporting and forecasting including working with auditors for year-end reporting. This will be prepared with the support of the Tax Reporting and Compliance Manager; however you will be expected to take ownership of this process as time goes on. 
  • Assist with management of Corporate Tax compliance process alongside the finance team for 45 Countries. It’s expected that in time you will become a key contact for advisors and local finance in a number of these jurisdictions.  
  • Assist with preparation of UK CIT Returns, Alphatax experience would be advantageous but not essential as training can be provided. 
  • Assist in the preparation and review of VAT returns. 
  • Assist in the preparation and review of employment tax/PAYE related submissions.
  • To manage and minimise the risk of tax issues. 
  • You will be expected to build relationships across all areas of the business. 
  • Ad-hoc project work as required. 

WHAT SKILLS WILL HELP YOU BE SUCCESSFUL 

  • Qualified Accountant and/or preferably Tax advisor (ACA/ACCA/CTA) 
  • 2+ years of post qualified experience ideally, however would also suit a first move into industry if newly qualified
  • Experience in direct and indirect taxes on a UK and international perspective
  • Experience of transfer pricing principles advantageous but not essential
  • Some Payroll and Global mobility knowledge would be advantageous
  • Highly computer literate - Advanced Excel skills; comfortable dealing with complex formulae
  • Adaptable to change in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines(essential)
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with people at all levels both internally and externally
  • High attention to detail
  • A can-do attitude
  • Driven and capable of driving process change and improvement
