Wayfair’s Forecasting & Replenishment Analytics team is looking for a Technical Analyst to create advanced analytical tools and modeling solutions that will help us predict inventory coverage and penetration in CastleGate across various granularities as well as create insights to understand the capability gaps in the program. In this team, you will grow your technical skills, build and eventually own products that are leveraged by cross functional teams at Wayfair. builds algorithmic solutions to enhance the customer experience, the supplier experience, and internal operational efficiencies that ultimately drive our bottom line. The team consists of technical analysts, data science/ML/economics experts, ML/software engineers and product managers who are responsible for developing and managing global large-scale forecasting and replenishment systems that power Wayfair’s complex supply chain. 

The Technical Analyst for the CG Performance Forecasting team will drive continuous improvement of this space by creating advanced analytical tools and modeling solutions that will help us predict inventory coverage and penetration in CastleGate and work with cross functional stakeholders for adoption. The Technical Analyst will become an expert in the CG Performance Forecasting space and will engage with Technology, Operations, and Finance partners to ensure we have a unified signal that accurately reflects the future of the business and can be leveraged by these teams. Within this broader team, the CG Performance Forecasting team measures, monitors and predicts performance metrics relevant to Wayfair’s CastleGate program which serve as key inputs for the Commercial/Operations organizations and continuously enhance the CastleGate value proposition for our suppliers and customers. 

What You’ll Do: 

  • Develop modeling solutions that generate forward looking projections for performance metrics that can be used by our stakeholders to drive performance in Wayfair’s CastleGate program and simultaneously act as an input to improve operational forecasts which in turn are a key input into labor and capacity planning. 
  • Perform statistical analysis across large data sets to develop performance insights across a myriad of attributes. Leverage these findings to improve operational efficiencies and business outcomes.
  • Develop key metrics and analytical tooling across strategic capabilities in Wayfair’s CastleGate program that are improving performance and enabling our team to easily identify trends and root causes and develop targeted action plans.
  • Create efficient data structures that can be leveraged across the organization and maintained in a dynamic environment.
  • Partner with our Inventory Management, Network Management and Ops Forecasting teams to improve their adoption of our insights and together drive up the CastleGate program value prop for our suppliers and customers.
  • Collaborate with partners in commercial, operations and technology; ensuring that there is strong alignment between Wayfair’s business objectives and our Data Science driven strategies. 

What You'll Need 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets, SQL or GBQ, and data visualization tools such as Google Data Studio (Looker, Tableau, or PowerBI)
  • Team-first attitude with enthusiasm for cross-functional collaboration
  • High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
  • An entrepreneurial spirit and mindset; you must be adaptable and comfortable with change

An Important Note about Wayfair's In-Office Policy:

All Boston-based interns, Co-ops, and corporate employees will be in office in a hybrid capacity. Employees will work in the office on designated days, Monday - Thursday, and work remotely Friday.
