About the team

The Payment, Identity and Integrity (Pii) Technical Partnerships team is an integral part of how Lyft operates. The Pii team is responsible for managing key strategic partnerships to maintain and drive the growth of new and existing Lyft payments products. We partner with our external vendors along with internal cross-functional teams (Pay Product, Pay Engineering, Finance, etc) to proactively identify opportunities to improve our customer experience, drive technical optimizations and manage operational costs.

About the role

We are seeking a highly motivated Technical Partnerships Manager to play a critical role in managing key strategic external partnerships and initiatives related to both rider and driver products and processes. You will be responsible for managing key rideshare partners, managing financial products (Ex: Gift Cards, Payments Reporting) and collaborating with external vendors and internal teams to ensure the timely launch of programs and products.

Responsibilities:
  • Support Pii and partner planning, focused on growing existing relationships and integrations.
  • Manage relationships and operations with key partners ongoing (including business process design and troubleshooting) and be directly responsible as the bridge between our partners and Lyft’s product, engineering, and support functions
  • Act as technical Subject Matter Expertise (SME) for initiatives related to end to end payment processing, and payment, identity and integrity products
  • Knowledge of compliance, or financial regulatory requirements related to payment processing in the U.S. and/or internationally.
  • Lead and collaborate with engineering and data teams on API integrations, data pipelines, and ETL processes with external vendors and internal platforms.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop technical documentations (functional specs, technical process flows, and operational runbooks)
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration with legal, finance, product, and compliance teams to execute partnership initiatives that align with Pii S&S objectives
  • Identify new partners and assist in negotiating business and technical terms with them, and drive commercial term negotiations as needed
  • Own Pii issues from beginning to end by working with Engineering and external partners to troubleshoot and resolve issues in a systematic and timely fashion
  • Support cross-functional teams for Pii platforms to build out critical tools, create and automate processes where possible, and address longer-term or recurring issues
  • Reporting and measurement: Manage processes for tracking partner and product impacts
  • Work with internal teams to build new capabilities and implement complex initiatives
Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree; CPA, MBA preferred
  • 6+ years of experience in technical partnerships, product or consulting in the payments industry
  • 4+ years of management consulting, strategy operations, or technical program management experience within high-growth technology, fintech, payments, or ridesharing industry
  • Strong knowledge of the payments ecosystem (PSPs, card networks, issuers) including processor integrations and compliance requirements
  • Good understanding of payment APIs, data pipelines, and the technical lifecycle of a payment transaction from authorization to settlement
  • Proven experience managing external partners in payments or financial services, including complexities with engineering, product, compliance and legal.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate technical and financial concepts to cross-functional partners.
  • Experience with program management tools (e.g., Jira, Zip, Airtable, Oracle) to manage tasks, dependencies, and timelines.
  • Proficiency with SQL for querying data and generating reports (preferred)
  • Strong analytical skills, with experience working with payments, financial or operational data.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, including managing multiple competing priorities, scheduling, and meeting deadlines
  • Data driven approach for ongoing operational performance measurement and tracking

The expected base pay range for this position in the San Francisco or New York area is $128,000-$160,000. Salary ranges are dependent on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience and geographic location. Range is not inclusive of potential equity offering, bonus or benefits.
