Job DescriptionHuge is looking for a Technical Lead to join the Technology team. The Technical Lead is a problem solver and is responsible for the overall execution and organization of the development effort on large-scale technology engagements. You'll have the ultimate responsibility of making technologies work together and, as a result, are a key contributor to the success of the project.
You will transform requirements into architecture and design documents that can be used by the development team to build robust, scalable solutions. You're also responsible for guiding development, gaining buy-in for the technical architecture, and proactively identifying and mitigating technical risks.
A successful candidate will have advanced communication and negotiation skills, an innate ability to simplify complex technology concepts, and a strong capability to plan, prioritize, and integrate all components of a technical solution.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Performing technical requirements gathering, use-case discovery, and platform analysis.
- Generating convincing and substantiated technology and architecture recommendations.
- Developing and maintaining software requirements specification and architecture documents.
- Serving as the primary day-to-day technical contact for clients, third-party vendors, technology partners, and internal stakeholders.
- Collaborating with Technology Directors to develop estimates and overall implementation solution plans.
- Leading all implementation, customization, and integration efforts.
- Defining and documenting best practices and contributing to company-wide knowledge sharing.
- Identifying and documenting integration points with third-party solutions.
- Defining and documenting all tools and technologies used to implement the solution.
- Working with vendor services on technology selection and implementation tasks.
- Performing problem analysis (identifying root causes, outlining resolution options, and resolving issues).
- Preparing and delivering technical proposals and presentations to all levels of a client’s organization.
- Evaluating vendor documentation and technical requirements to accurately estimate time and cost, and recommend business-appropriate approaches.
What We’d Like to See
- 7–10+ years of experience developing and leading large-scale technology engagements, including at least 2+ years in an agency or consultancy environment.
- Advanced programming expertise in technologies such as React (architecture and design patterns), .NET, Java, PHP, SQL, and others.
- Deep understanding of React component design, state management, and application performance optimization.
- Familiarity with Remote Procedure Call (RPC) models and their use in distributed systems.
- Experience with application-level security practices (e.g., authentication, authorization, secure APIs, OWASP).
- Hands-on knowledge and architectural experience in cloud environments, especially AWS (e.g., using services like Lambda, S3, CloudFront, RDS) for scalable, secure, and cost-effective infrastructure design.
- Expert-level knowledge in Web 2.0 technologies, including AJAX, social platforms, widgets, mobile and emerging interfaces.
- Strong object-oriented design skills, deep familiarity with architectural patterns and enterprise design frameworks.
- Experience in database modeling and design using Oracle, SQL Server, or DB2.
- Proficiency in UML, including the development of use cases, class diagrams, and state diagrams.
- Hands-on experience with enterprise CMS platforms (e.g., Sitecore, Adobe Experience Manager) or mobile development (iOS/Android).
- Familiarity with enterprise portal technologies (e.g., IBM WebSphere, Microsoft SharePoint).
- Ability to analyze business requirements to determine and assess technical feasibility quickly.
- Demonstrated leadership of technology teams with 8+ members (engineers, QA, DevOps).
- Ability to mentor and guide junior technical team members, fostering skills development.
- Excellent communication, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience delivering solutions for large multinational brands.
- A degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
- Advanced C1 level English fluency, with excellent written and spoken (speaking) communication.
