The FlashArray team builds the industry’s most innovative, high-performance, and highly available portfolio of products that are designed for the most demanding mission-critical applications.  While we deliver a hardware storage array, over 90% of our engineering staff are software engineers. Our customers are the most important part of our business, and they love FlashArray for its simplicity of management, the constant flow of new and exciting upgrades, and the ability to live on the cutting edge of technology while never taking downtime, ever. 

We recently extended the capabilities of FlashArray into the cloud with CloudSnap and Cloud Block Store for AWS, allowing customers to harness the agility of the public cloud for both traditional IT and cloud-native applications.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING…

As an Engineering Manager for the GUI team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our technology. You'll oversee a team of talented engineers, driving innovation and ensuring we deliver exceptional solutions that meet evolving customer needs. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to groundbreaking technology within a collaborative and transparent culture.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BRING TO THIS ROLE...

  • Lead a team of highly skilled software engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and technical excellence.
  • Collaborate closely with product management, technical leadership, middleware, and backend engineers to drive the engineering roadmap, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Maintain high standards for engineering quality, including implementing best practices for frontend development (TypeScript/Angular/React) and UX design.
  • Advocate for REST API-related backend development where applicable, ensuring seamless integration between frontend and backend systems.
  • Stay at the forefront of both frontend and cloud technologies, introducing tools and techniques to keep the team ahead of the curve.
  • Provide technical direction and mentorship to team members and others to ensure product quality and on-time deliverables.
  • Identify and leverage metrics that allow us to ensure and improve our release process.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE TEAM...

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of technical management experience, with a proven track record of leading and mentoring teams.
  • 5+ years of experience in UX/UI frontend design, wireframes, and frontend software development (TypeScript/Angular/React).
  • Experience with API design, backend and REST API-related development is a plus.
  • Experience working with remote teams across geographical regions.
  • Expertise in managing projects throughout the SDLC, delivering products on schedule and iterating based on customer feedback.
  • Robust customer focus and ability to incorporate customer feedback into product development.
  • Solid understanding of end-to-end quality best practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

You will be based in Santa Clara, CA. As this is an office-centric role, you are expected to be present in the office for 4 days a week. As outlined in Pure's Hybrid Work Policy, there will be variations over periods of time, depending on business need.

The annual base salary range is: $187,000– $312,000. 

Salary ranges are determined based on role, level and location. For positions open to candidates in multiple geographical locations, the base salary range is reflective of the labor market across the applicable locations. 

This role may be eligible for incentive pay and/or equity.
