Are you a UX generalist who has worked as a software developer previously coding in C#, C++, maybe sprinkled with some graphics APIs and UI frameworks? Are you heavily into improving stuff, taking something not so nice and making it (for lack of a better word), ‘nice’? We are looking for a Software developer who has built UI frameworks, who takes pride in her craft of streamlining the creation of UIs and making them easy to use. Are you prepared to show us your work with your portfolio, having done this kind of work before?

Based in Helsinki with offices in Germany, the US, China, Korea and Japan, we have 100+ employees whose mission is to create the most sophisticated HMI framework and ecosystem to boost the usability and value of technological products. Over 50 automotive brands across the globe trust our advanced product Kanzi for the creation of a rich user experience. (but we are not just in the automotive domain!)

Case in point: you will not be designing UI or UX for cars! Rather, you will be designing UX for our products, which help our customers create UI and UX in cars, and in other products in other verticals too. At Rightware we are creating software with which you can create a UI for anything with a screen: a TV, a phone, a yacht, a helicopter, a toaster, you name it.

You will roll your sleeves up and identify issues, create solutions and usability mockups / wireframes / visual solutions, then you will implement those solutions (or then pass it on to one of our other Devs who will do it for you). Our team is called Product Experience Team, with a couple visual designers, a documentation specialist, a product experience engineer, and a team lead.

A bit of a wish list for us is if you would be interested and willing / capable of helping develop and foster the UX within our company, in general. To be our ‘go-to’ guy / gal for all things UX. Not for reviewing things that our developers have done, but rather being proactive. Oh and yeah: hands on is key, we are not looking for a director.

Requirements

• Proven experience in software development, and usability, UX, or DX

• Strong engineering and development background with proficiency in programming languages, such as C++, C#, Java

• Familiarity and hands-on experience with UI frameworks

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment

• Ability to create wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes to communicate your ideas

• Passion for creating exceptional user experiences and a strong commitment to user satisfaction
