The difference you will make 

The Workplace Violence Risk Manager will primarily be responsible for the prevention and response to workplace violence risks. The role encompasses internal education, response coordination, and investigations.  The nature of employee cases include well-being concerns, threatening behaviors and violence towards any person. This role will be responsible for developing and managing primarily prevention and response phases, and consulting on recovery. 

A typical day 

  • Create and maintain consistent workplace violence  prevention, awareness, education, streamlined intake, reporting, and resource management. 
  • Create or improve upon data collection and reporting of key internal metrics for prevention, response, and recovery in the ACC/APAC region. 
  • Conduct internal workplace investigations in accordance with applicable employment laws. 
  • Knowledge and ability to understand workplace violence guidelines, and law in order to meet compliance standards 
  • Collaborate and improve investigative processes and program components of the larger cross functional response team of security, legal, ER, talent, benefits, and others. 
  • Develop and maintain operational response resources within APAC regions, to include but not limited to psychological consulting, security services, and investigative resources. 
  • Interview and complete the documentation process of complainants, witnesses, respondents, and other related individuals. 
  • Manage and coordinate live response matters with external parties including but not limited to external counsel, law enforcement, company service providers, and third-party psychological services. 
  • Perform behavioral based threat assessments in both direct and indirect settings. 
  • Perform after-action reviews and manage the reporting of corrective action efforts. 
  • Provide outcome summaries and investigation reports to Stakeholders. 
  • Communicate with co-workers, management, clients and others in a courteous and professional manner. 

 

Your Expertise 

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Criminal Justice, Organizational Psychology, Psychology, Sociology).
  • Minimum of 3-5 or more years of mental health experience.
  • Proven experience in risk management and workplace violence prevention.
  • In-depth knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and best practices in the field.
  • Strong communication and conflict resolution skills.
  • Certification in workplace violence prevention or related areas (preferred).
  • Ability to collaborate with internal and external partners to further program goals and enhance organizational response. 
  • Knowledge of and ability to utilize evidence-based practices and clinical practice guidelines appropriately and ability to guide staff and partners in using these tools. 
  • Ability to deal effectively with individuals or groups representing widely divergent backgrounds, interests, and points of view. 
  • Ability to establish and monitor performance metrics, priorities and standards.
  • Ability to analyze organizational and operational problems and to develop and implement solutions that result in sound operation of the program. 
  • Fluent and proficient in the English language  (verbal and writing).

 

Preferred Education and Experience 

  • Ability to learn rapidly and organize work, set security strategy and priorities, delegate tasks, and meet multiple deadlines. 
  • Holistic workplace violence case management experience 
  • Knowledge of and ability to research and utilize evidence-based practices and clinical practice guidelines appropriately and ability to guide staff and partners in using these tools. 
  • Ability to deal effectively with individuals or groups representing widely divergent backgrounds, geographic regions, interests, and points of view. 
  • Skill in managing and collaborating with the work of others to accomplish program goals and objectives. 
  • Ability to establish and monitor performance metrics, priorities and standards.
  • Ability to analyze organizational and operational problems and to develop and implement solutions that result in sound operation of the program.
  • Familiarization with employment regulations for workplace investigations.
